Just goes to show how difficult some of these "injuries" can be, despite being surrounded by experts.

A bit like that motorway pile up victim they failed to save, despite him still breathing when he arrived at the hospital, and him being "in the best hands"... but with less gore!

If you ever get to a stage where you look upon war vets in wheelchairs as being lucky, as their injuries/missing limbs are visibly obvious for everyone to take notice of and act accordingly, whereas your own son's war injuries are invisible, PM me, and I'll try to help you through it.

Was very heavy c. 09:30 yesterday (Monday)
Heavy enough for us to turn off at the Crewe & Harper towards Willington (aiming for Swad).
Traffic was slow but moving, in both directions. Couldn’t confirm whether they were actually crossing the causeway or diverted up by the John Thompson?  🤷‍♂️

I'm sorry but the enjoyment of football at my age, is watching a game, seeing goals, skill, tackles (make the most of them whilst they're still allowed),wingers going past full backs, towering headers at corners and brilliant teamwork, come on who thought that jumpers for goalposts was next?
I accept im old fashioned but I hate the over analysis of games, the constant barrage of pointless statistics, and the clinical dissection of every move by a media, driven by what they can sell on the back of this information.
Football in the seventies may have been of an inferior quality but in my opinion it was real, you felt part of it, the excitement and anticipation of actually seeing a game and everything that went with it. Now it just seems so dry and bereft of emotion unless you consider players rehersed celebrations as emotion, personally I hate them.
XG may have a point for somebody but for me it absolutely does not.

    7am Tuesday...
A52 stretch between PP/Wyvern to Pentagon is now re-opened in both directions, as is the slip exit itself, (from PP near M&S/Tim Horton's onto said Derby-bound A52.)
The 2 lane underpass leading from Pentagon towards Radio Derby/Friargate (and A6 Duffield Road/Jury's Inn Hotel) still closed.
The 2 lanes to the left of that (Eastgate?), leading up and around to The Old Cockpitt/Derbion/Railway station/PP remains fully open.
All routes through PP/Wyvern now appear to be fully open.
... As was Greggs.  Excuse me whilst I now devour this Pain au chocolat, as it's still a bit warm!  😎

If we win convincingly with a proper performance rather than ‘no easy games in this league’ mentality against a team that can’t buy a win then you’ll see me all aboard the playoff train because ultimately I can hold my nose with Warnes football if he’s still getting them putting in convincing displays against sides we should be seeing off.

I just want to feel excited again. I want to want to stand up at the match rather than it being an effort as it has been.

I’ll praise him if we put on a rip roaring performance. If we win but we look dogshit I’ll be honest about that too.

Last season we had some big home wins. The 4-2 vs Bristol City, 4-0s against FGR & Accrington, even a 5-0 against Morecambe. We played some very nice football to boot.
The Warne Doubters (as the Warne-Out Brigade were then called) didn't DISMISS the results or the performances, they didn't not enjoy them, watch the highlights multiple times admiring the good play and clinical finishing, they just acknowledged them for what they were - thrashings of teams Derby should have every expectation to beat at home if they are a serious contender for the playoffs, as was the aim of the club at that time.
That acknowledgement sometimes came in the face of certain posters weaponising those results (or more accurately the broader unbeaten run which included those results) against the people who'd expressed doubt, anger or whatever else about Warne when he was appointed.
To this day it feels like anyone taking a wider view of results like that, those who didn't get carried away with them is still seen as some sort of joyless pariah. The reality is that those results didn't end up counting for very much at the end of the season.
That aim has been raised up a level this season. At the very least looking secure a play-off place at the earliest opportunity, possibly pushing for an automatic spot.
The only way Warne even begins to be a success as the manager or Head Coach of Derby County is if he secures us a promotion. Given that, a good result and performance tomorrow should be expected, albeit not taken for granted.
That's the cold reality of the situation, even if some seem to want to live in the land of Makebelieve and act like we're a perennial mid-table League One club with a team, playing budget, manager and fan expectations to match, and to dictate what reaction to the game (and future games) is and isn't acceptable.
Now this, this IS a joyless post(!), but don't let that fool you into thinking I wouldn't be delighted with 3 points and a big win tomorrow. (There are two or three posters actively wanting us to lose which is not on IMO) - just don't expect me or anyone else with a long-term view on Warne to be doing cartwheels if we've produce a result that we should be more than capable of and expected to achieve.

As of c. 4pm this afternoon...
On the main PP through road.  Busy between London Rd to The Merlin.  Appeared Chocker from Merlin to City.  I turned off at that stage, headed for Costco)...
No exit from PP/Wyvern onto Derby-bound A52 by Tim Horton's/M&S
A52 Derby-Bound was all taken off onto PP at that same junction, so no continuation from Spondon to Pentagon.
I didn't go around Pentagon, so assume closed in both directions between Pentagon and PP turn off?  🤷‍♂️
A52 could be accessed for Spondon/Raynesway/Nott'm-bound from the far end of PP/Wyvern (Past Sainsburys).
Costco rear gates were open, but the old cattle market road (parallel to A52) appeared impassable to cars (May be ok in an artic! LOL)...
View from Costco rear gates looking towards Pentagon... c. 4pm today (Monday)...

At this point, I turned around (Back through Costco), headed out towards Asda, and through Chad towards Fire Station... VERY busy in both directions!
No other pics, as I was driving!  😁

That's the problem though... if indeed the forum has a problem.
The Warne-Out Brigade will dismiss even a 4-0 win, due to it being a "dead cert" for 3 points.
Roll on a 6 game winning streak, so it becomes a joy to pop in here again!

    -1 for a start!
Technically, I could make it, but I'm up at 3am Wednesday heading for an early Eurotunnel, 6 hours driving, and a 36kg tent to put up in the bamford rain (As the forecast currently predicts!)
IF we were doing ok, I'd have still made the effort, and put up with minimal sleep.  Be that results/league position/recent form/attractive/entertaining football etc.
As we're a little short on all points just lately, I'll not be bothering.  There's simply not enough on offer to tempt me tomorrow night, all things considered.
As it stands, I'm nowhere near the point I was at under Young Nigel's reign towards the end, so I'm currently still planning on turning up on cold winter nights to come...
    "Currently", I said!  😉

We're not to blame for the dire football and results we've had to sit through. The mood here is just a reflection of what's happening on the pitch.
I'm sure we'd all be happy with 6 wins on the bounce though.
