Whoever people decide to protest about, it will be a colossal waste of time.
Protest about the ownership - so what? We all know Mel wants to sell and will do so as soon as possible. We also know that the club are trying to get out of the predicament we are currently in. Protesting isn't going to make that process go any faster. Protest about the mistakes have been made? Well, OK but you can't change what has happened so what's the point?  Does anybody at the club think the fan base is happy and needs to be disavowed of that opinion? I shouldn't think so.
Protest against the EFL? Go ahead - they won't care and it won't lead to any rule changes. That will only happen - and I agree that they should - when all of the clubs start protesting. But it suits other clubs to see us 'get done' so they won't lift a finger to help (and they may not agree that the rules of stupid either). As far as the EFL are concerned, all they are doing is applying the rules that they think we have broken. I imagine they are quite happy and smug about the whole situation.
If people want to waste their time - and it makes them feel better - then go for it. I'm sure a bit of venting might be cathartic to some. But it will have zero positive impact on anything else. If a protest does occur, then I hope it happens after the match rather than before or during, as the one impact it might have is unsettling the team.

I'm no fan of Mel anymore, he deserves a lot of the stick he receives, same with Pearce, but, protests shouldn't be aimed at them, they should be aimed squarely at the EFL.
It surprises me that some fans haven't clicked onto who the real enemy are. Protesting against Mel Morris will have Rick Parry licking his lips, and Steve Gibsons no doubt. Any protest against Mel, regardless of our feelings, is another dent against the club.
Protests need to be pre-arranged, before and after the game, banners with words to the effect that the EFL are destroying football. The media need to know so the protests get air time and we need a spokesperson who can appear in the media and give facts as to why we feel we are being harshly treated. Such as; if the EFL hadn't signed off all our accounts we wouldn't have paid 10 million for Bielik, or 4 million for Jozwiak, or x amount for Wayne Rooney.
In all of this, we don't have anyone visibly representing Derby and trying to set our story straight.
I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of the EFL and Rick Parry, I would rather see us play non-league football and fight them to the hilt than bend over and accept guilt!
If Mel Morris reads this (he won't), you have made lots of mistakes, but you have my full backing on this, fight the barstewards right to the very end, don't accept any points deduction, at least until the EFL accept liability also.
Protest against the EFL not Mel!

At least in public / negoitating position DCFC are still of the "done nothing wrong" noises.
    In private, we don't know.

Any question that starts "do we know for certain" is going to result in a "no" answer at the moment.
We don't know what the discussion is about, and honestly, whether we've broken the rules and what punishment we might be due aren't entirely separate things.  If we're still arguing over exactly what amortization models are allowed, then the answer to that question will determine the extent of any overspend, and hence the extent of any punishment.

I haven't gone through the whole thread on this (or all the tweets and media) so pardon my ignorance...  but do we know for certain at the moment whether the club has agreed that it has broken the rules and we are just negotiating the penalty or whether the club is still disputing whether we have broken any rules and thus whether a penalty is justified in the first place?
If its the former, then can't really see what is taking so long. There can't be many options and if there is no agreement then there must be a course of action (either a penalty is imposed or we go back to arbitration).

That's been a case from almost every outlet that has had anything to say about this process from start to finish a couple of years ago. It also, at least in my mind, is one of the reasons that so many fans of other clubs carry the perception that we are guilty beyond all possible doubt.
Not one news agency has taken a step back, done any reasonable analysis and published something close to the actual situation, at least not from what I have seen.

We have only won twice in our last 22 games, though. It's not like we were unlucky not to win in any of the games we've played this season. The draws we've got have been fairly reflective of the game.
55/56 points is a hell of an ask. I genuinely think if we took a nine point deduction we would need an additional 10 games on everyone else to secure survival. I have no doubt it would absolutely kill us, not to mention the head's of players would go.

OK, I have had to contact the SLO today by email. Got the standard reply in about two minutes, " we will reply within so many days" etc.
    BUT
tucked away beneath this automated reply, in the same email, below my email, there was an actual answer from the SLO, giving me another email address to take my query to (it was about membership).
I sent an email to membership services and within 15 minutes got another standard reply, and once again an actual reply, addressing my query, below it. Just to add a bit of spice, this reply went into my promotions folder rather than my inbox!
I share this info just in case anyone else out there has had an actual reply to their emails but hasn't spotted the full content. I know I am an older lady and wouldn't expect any of you young pups to know less about emails than me, but you never know!
Apart from the vagaries of the email systems, I had my query answered by two different people and resolved within 30 minutes of my first email. That suggests that customer service is operating and staff are trying to help. Good experience.

Not at -9, which I'd imagine puts us comfortably at the bottom of the league and with next to no chance of staying up.
I think even -6 would see us down. Negotiate to -3 and put it to bed with my approval. Otherwise, we've wasted millions and months arguing for nothing. I think -12 was worst case anyway, all that time and money for barely any benefit... I'd continue to fight it until the numbers show we are absolutely in the wrong.

Doesn't work like that, does it? We can't just wipe the slate clean. Accounts need to be published, debts need to be paid.
The numbers are either going to show us in breach or not. Either way, it's clear Morris and Pearce have shown themselves to be absolutely incompetent. It really annoys me that a bunch of honest pros and kids have been left to pick up the pieces. Birmingham still had a lot of the players that they breached FFP with in their team. The players we pushed the boat out with have been gone for a long time.
    Awful situation.

Rooney himself in the film calls it a documentary David. If it's behind the scenes and an inside perspective on what is happening then it's perfectly valid to label it a documentary. After-all documentaries often need sources that are beyond the reach of the common person to make their films and Rio is documenting things that are going on at the club i.e., a documentary.

why shouldn't the win stat be carried over? Just because we're into a new season doesn't mean we automatically forget about past form and stats. It doesn't magically become a clean slate where all is forgotten unless you do that with every other manager and everyone is just judged on the season rather than prior history. Losing and winning are habits that are easily picked up and we're in a bad habit of accepting terrible results.  If you don't want it carried over our win ratio this season is 14%.

we're on 1 point per game which is almost exactly where we were last season points wise and we've played 4 of the bottom 6 teams in that run. He'll be given a break when he starts winning games for me. Yes of course you can, I'm just giving my point of view which is that I'm not particularly sympathetic to this kind of video that glosses over what are severe problems at the club as Rooney's pal goes on about how great he is and how lucky we are to have him.

I didn't see it advertised anywhere as a documentary.
Everyone moans that we're always the centre of negative press, yet here we are with one of the games modern greats nipping into Moor Farm, speaking positively about the work Rooney is doing and look at the reaction.
And why does the win stat over this year and last season need to be churned out day after day, last season is gone, it's over.
This season it's clear to see performances have improved and we're sat higher in the table than clubs with far more experienced managers and squads at their disposal.
When's the guy gonna be given a break? Maybe there is a positive atmosphere behind the scenes, which is great to hear, can we not just enjoy a bit of positivity amongst all the daily doom gloom.

documentary where the boss' mate goes on the 'inside' and stunningly finds everything is hunky dory at a club that has won 2 games from their last 24 and won once this season.

In fact, no, I can’t just leave it at the above comment. The whole reason the likes of Mel have to find loopholes and squeeze out every possible revenue boosting scheme is precisely because of the likes of Gibson using his parachute payments in ways that we’re not intended. Buying over priced championship players, paying ridiculous wages, destabilising the market. And it’s hilarious that he failed miserably in his gambit and now he’s just ‘one of us’, trying to fight tooth and nail against the parachute payments clubs, hoping that maybe, maybe, one will slip up and they can sneak back up through the play offs. Cos top two are basically wrapped up before a ball is kicked. And Gibson has been a part of the that problem.

    What was lucky about it?
Our defenders are there to defend and our goalkeeper is there to keep the ball out of the net.
Our defensive players and goalkeeper, between them, did their jobs brilliantly.
Don't remember anything too lucky happening for us.

I personally wouldn't say allowing the opposition to get off 20 shots from inside our box as having 'played really well, particularly in defence.' 99 times out of 100 Roos doesn't have the game of his life and we lose that comfortably. And as well as Roos we should probably thank the ref for only adding 5 minutes of injury time despite us manging to waste a good 20-25 minutes from goal kicks, throw ins and Roos with the ball in his hands.
A fantastic point from a game we were expecting none, and we certainly won't play many teams as physical or talented as West Brom this season, but today Roos' saves and West Brom's poor finishing earned us that point, not clever tactics or good defending.

It wasn't luck, bar one or two crosses, especially the one across the box on the floor. It was very good defensive play - there are two teams contributing.
