If he is a fantasist, he has done no such thing. He has delayed the day we escape from our troubles. In the absence of firm proof he is anything other than this, I believe we should all move on from him. His offer may well have made us feel we may eat lobster when porridge and beans is what is on the menu.
Give me porridge and beans any day.

Oh no more puns on the way

I was there for the Accrington game in 1957, It was a top match in the 3rd div north, the gate was 24,200. It was my second season as a Rams supporter. We were promoted that season, And that team is still one of my all time favourites. UTR.

I've just done it and I can't believe it, I've just ordered a sombrero on Amazon. Nothing unusual about that you might say, but I'm an eighty year old Rams fan. I could still cancel it. Should I?

My friend has not long left of his life, He has terminal cancer and has maybe only weeks to live. He had his first season ticket when he came out of the army in the mid fifties, and has had it every season since, and then when he married in 1963 his wife had one too, they never missed a home match, but then covid came along and they have not been again. We have a mutual friend who lives in the USA he is in the UK this week end and is taking my friend to what is likely to be his last match ever. I'm just hoping if there are any protests it wont affect the match. So please spare a thought or a prayer if your so minded on Saturday. I wont say his name as he hated social media as much as he loved the Rams. So UP THE RAMS P will be thinking of you.

Anybody remember the name of the bar closest to the old ABC cinema in east street it was a fairly soulless place and ‘modern’ by 1970’s standards but you could just about get there in time for a quick pint after the late film finished
It was the Newmarket inn on the corner of Albion street.

Its my 79th birthday today and I have been a Ram for 66 of those years. The first ten of those years defined me as a person and as a rams fan, I got a job I got married I had two sons I bought my first season ticket and we bought Kevin Hector, A great decade for me. The next ten years were also great from Brian Clough to Dave McKay, and then things changed, in 1976 we lost to Man Utd in the cup semi final we were odds on favourites to win, And for whatever reason that result upset me so much that it made me ill for weeks after. And being a Rams fan was never the same again for me. I still had a season ticket up until Peter Taylors time as manager but the fervour had gone. I never lost the love for the Rams but I did not go very often after that. I still have that same love for the Rams I had 66 years ago and indeed I have had a season ticket for the last 14 seasons, but I am afraid its coming to an end, Covid scares me so I don't go now. But I would just like for a birthday/Christmas present somebody to get us out of this mess. Not bothered what league we are in I will still be a RAM till I die. UTR

On Channel 4 this afternoon the whole match in colour, If you've never seen it before it will be worth watching. In 1966 I had been a Rams fan for 10 years all in the third and second divisions. I bought my first season ticket after we won. Something I particularly remember that I had not seen before was the German Helmut Haller, who played his football in Italy, rolling round on the floor in fake agony after being tackled .So I will watch it to make sure my memory is not playing tricks. Incidentally Haller was playing for Juventus when we played them in European cup semi final and Peter Taylor accused him of tapping up the German referee, It would seem that he was right about that ,as it was alleged the ref had accepted a bribe of a Fiat car this information came out a few years later.

Yep, from those 35 games I too can see a bit of Brian Clough in Wazza B4........
Indeed, Cloughs first season saw us finish lower in the table than Tim Wards last.
I feeling excited about to the season now

Sorry B4, but I've seen us win 5 league titles. But that's in 67 years of being a supporter.
