    A few musings now I've had chance to reflect;
TJJ has got a bit of a swagger about him, and I feel like we're desperate for some of that borderline-arrogant confidence. At the same time, he seemed quite humbled by the fan reaction to the goal. After his little dance and celebration, you could see him mouth "thank you" to the crowd. Or it could have been "f*** you" and I suck at lip reading, so make of that what you will.
Port Vale aren't a bad team, despite not creating much they looked more than capable of doing so. Plus their kit is gorgeous.
I actually think we look better as a back 3, as long as Foz isn't on the right because you could see him panic every time the ball came to him. Nelson and Cashin have been sensational recently.
Nyambe had one of his poorest games for us and didn't look comfortable going forwards at all. I think a back three of Nyambe, Nelson and Cashin could be sensational with fit wingbacks though.
Wilson is a joy. It a shame he isn't left footed so we can't get him and Ward in the same side. He's not a winger, though.
The away support was sensational and incredibly loud on the Rams TV coverage! Well done all, hope the hangover on a school night isn't too painful.
    Anyway, back in my box.

Back from the match and what's not to like! 3 points, 4 league wins on the spin, a goal in front of the away end, and Waggy starting the  bounce! Going to bed happy!

Xg versus gut ,,,,,, watched the game on rtv and my gut was it was only a matter of time before we scored and went on to win , solid at the back , much more organised of late with a confidence and determination building in the team , the players and management reaction at the final whistle was a joy to watch and very far from the picture of a group of players being told to play in a way they don’t want and not really on board with the manager ,
warne recruitment,, well again it shows real promise for the job in hand , Nelson, nyambe, Wilson ( twinkle toes ) , fornah,
hourihane and smith are getting dogs abuse from some ( unfairly in my view) , they are in my view rosenior players that bring plenty to our team but some want them out for more mobile athletic in they’re view warne type players ,
patience that some have been calling for is the key , let’s see how the team develops , we are progressing and in my view look stronger throughout the squad than last apart from maybe mc g and his best ever ever season

We are not in League One because of recruitment.

People generally seem confident on this one. Me less so as I think this will be tough. It's been 10 games without a league win for them, but here come the every-generous Derby County!

We've only played 4 away league matches since the beginning of October and the record is W1 D1 L2.
The one win was the first of that sequence at Blackpool on 3rd October.
High time for a statement away performance.

As long as it takes , I don’t know why you keep thinking this club could be back on its feet in such a short space of time, regardless of who is manager DCFC has to be rebuilt slowly with all the finances in a healthy condition , to run before we can walk will be detrimental to our future , patience from the fan base is needed above all else no matter how frustrating

Until the last week it has been a long time since I had been at a Derby Match. My Dad has said I’ve probably seen some of the best football so far this season. So, this thread is starting with genuine positivity from me, as my brother Daniel (B4) would also have done. This match means so much more to the Beavis family than any result. We want everyone to wave their scraves and flanges (not literally, ladies 🙈) and raise the roof for both DCFC and Daniel. Please share the details of the applause far and wide.
I’m reliably told I need to predict a 3-0 win to Derby.
My dad, Andy and I, will be in the east stand, stairway 35. We’ll be having a drink before the match and at halftime. Please do come and say hello.

I don't know when the draw is but Derby will be at home and against one of seven possible opponents:
Port Vale, Fleetwood, Stockport, Barnsley, Burton, Liverpool U21's, Forest U21's.

You would hope so, but that doesn't necessarily make it true.
A good coaching team will of course have a variety of specialties covered and work together, lean into each others' experience and knowledge but is it always the case that this is what you get? Of course it isn't.
Not all football managers / coaches are interested in or knowledgeable about the same aspects of the job. Their coaching styles and their priorities differ wildly.  Often a manager will surround himself with people he likes and trusts, but this can come at the expense of having a more rounded team around him so you can end up with a collective of like-minded individuals who may complement each other well but who don't challenge each others' thought processes.
If a manager nor his chosen coaches are really knowledgeable about, experienced with or interested in bringing through youth players then there's every chance that, even if someone else at the club does have this knowledge and reports to them what they know, that person will pretty much be ignored.
Not being involved in the game on a day by day basis also doesn't preclude  fans from gaining knowledge on a certain subject by studying, listening to those who are specialists in the field, reading in-depth interviews and analysis, looking at how other clubs have handled the transition etc, even if it's only a theory they'll never be able to put into practice.
The difference is they have the advantage of not having to deal with all the other stuff that comes with being a football coach/manager on a day to day basis so don't have to deal with that balance, but it doesn't automatically make the fan wrong and the coach right.
