I wouldn't mind a Sunday league goal now for us. Deflects off Lawrence, Shinnie falls over, their keeper trips over a bit of grass. Goes in off the back of the header of their defender ? 1-0 Derby

Glad at least Jack Marriott can't score against us now. It was inevitable if he had stayed on. I'm happy the Peterborough manager doesn't know this ?

That isn’t fair mate. He’s at the sharpest end of the pitch. Give him a chance. I thought he was excellent midweek and today is another step in the right direction for him. He’s already looked a threat just with his movement.

    1. Having already beaten our Division Two (sorry Championship!) opponents in some style a fortnight ago in pre season it'll be interesting to see how both teams approach this tie. One would normally expect a home side two divisions higher than ourselves to field a weakened team although in Derby's case that would mean putting out young kids as they are currently operating under a transfer embargo as well as having budget constraints imposed on them. I really hope that we're going to go to Pride Park with the intention of fielding a strong side and looking for a win as anything else in my opinion would be a dereliction of duty to the travelling fans as well as the club itself. We're only one week into the new season and the first team players need game time to sharpen themselves up in all areas of the park.
2.If Derby are as poor as they were a couple of weeks ago and we play our strongest team we've definitely a chance of winning.
    3. As I understand it Derby can only play contracted players and youth players who played at least one league/FA Cup game last season. This is a hit to nothing, it will also give time for the team to bed in. If we are getting tonked, get the kids on and give them some experience. Derby may be there for the taking, why not.
    4. Ah well, it wasn’t to be, The best team won in the end. I’d have been chuffed to have won, but it’s no bad thing that we can focus on the league.
Erm, nice bunch, unfortunately that's it.

Don't think Stretton is looking bad for someone so young. Will be nice to see him next to Kazim who can be doing the physical part.
Edit: and for more than the final 3 minutes!

A very exciting player to watch. His made a few stray passes at the last moment, but he is still young. The pace and power is phenomenal, hopefully can only improve.

Yeah, agree with that assessment. At times his passing and crossing could be slack, but he is so young and hugely positive whenever he is on the ball. He is so talented at taking on players and offers something we desperately lack. I hope Rooney gives him plenty of opportunities this season, he looks like he has a lot to offer.

I love watching Festy Ebosele play. He's still pretty raw at times but he glides past players, he's so quick, strong and intelligent with the ball. This will be his break through season.

The officiating in this game has been awful. A yellow card now for an attempted bicycle kick. Wow.
