I've been on our website and it's only showing about 900 tickets left for home fans

Is this right ? Have 15000 extra fans suddenly bought tickets ?

Or is it another glitch with our online system ?

I think that season ticket holders seats are still reserved as this match doesn't count with season tickets. These become free for all on Thursday at 12:30pm so should get a better indication of the attendance then

How old are you - you sound like a petulant 13 year old. The ultimate blame lies with a man who took over ownership of a debt free football club full of talented players and coaching staff and proceeded to hire and fire managers at will, splash out ludicrous amounts of cash on bang average players based on advice from a recruitment team that included his stepson and go for ‘Hollywood’ managerial appointments instead of someone who had solid experience of managing at this level.
As for Mel running out of money believe me he’ll be ok - the £300 million plus still in his bank account should help keep the wolves from the door. On the other hand our football club is up to its eyeballs in debt because of him.

I along with thousands of others have been putting my hand in my pocket for the best part of 40 years supporting this football club while trying to bring up a family and pay a mortgage. If I had Mel’s money I’d have spent it a damn sight more sensibly than he has so I’m not taking a lecture from the likes of you about it.

The state Mel Morris has left this football club in is a disgrace. Not one single Derby County fan owes him anything other our contempt for the way he has wrecked our club.

Best post I've read on here for a while. When a takeover finally goes through Mel should be banned from ever setting foot in Pride Park. I never want to see him associated with this football club again.

Just listened, not sure how any of that could be seen as directions from the top.

Just sounds like Cocu’s reasoning which is perfectly understandable.

I think the fact that he was told no matter how well he trained or performed in games he wouldn't get in the team ahead of Rooney who had to play and Bird who was in Cocu's remit to bring on, would suggest that it has come from the top.

Just my perception of the interview though.

  4. Great result for us last night with Boro winning but that late Forest equaliser was a massive blow.

Now means that Birmingham still need points and if Forest lost they would be less likely to throw their game against Wednesday like they did with Huddersfield with them needing points as well.

Our rivals can't all win all their games, its not possible because some are playing each other, example comig up is Rotherham v Coventry

But if Coventry win tonight and Rotherham win their two remaining games in hand against Luton and Boro that will put us in the bottom 3. So it's not in our hands.

  6. Really starting to panic now. Can see Rotherham staying up. Think we have got to hope that Coventry and/or Huddersfield finish below us. Looking at the run in Huddersfield have the toughest with Barnsley and Reading still to play. Ours toughest one looks like Swansea but hopefully by then they won't be able to catch Watford so may be resting players for the play offs.

Our other saving grace is that Wednesday will probably be gone by the time we play them on the last day which should work in our favour but stranger things have happened, can remember Sunderland beating Wolves 3-0 on the last day the other year after they had been relegated and Wolves needed to win to break some record.

4 points from the next two games is a must.

    Saturday 10th April Huddersfield away

    Tuesday 13th April QPR home

    Thursday 15th April Coventry home

    Sunday 18th April Birmingham home

    Wednesday 21st April Middlesboro home

    Saturday 24th April Barnsley away

    Tuesday 27th Brentford away

    Saturday 1st May Blackburn home

    Tuesday 4th May Luton away

    Saturday 8th May Cardiff away

    Rotherhams fixtures.

Thats 10 games pretty much 1 game every 3 days, They'd had better not pick up any knocks, More Covid, Sendings off and had better have a large fit squad...I would have expected them to have got 3 points against Wycombe, But didn't, This division is now at the crazy stage Sheff Wed sticking 5 past Cardiff, There's more peaks and troughs than the rocky mountains in the Championship

I am more worried about Sheff Wednesday than Rotherham though. Would not back our lot to get a point against them on the final day if it came down to it.

    why?

I guess their following Saturday has been moved to Sunday.  Their game against them with be the third game their opponents have played in 6 days whereas they have a had a rest since Saturday.  This is very much to their advantage

    They've gone from playing 17th & 21st April to 15th, 18th & 21st April

Rotherham will have to play FOUR times in just eight days in order to fulfil their fixture schedule, interesting to see how they will get on with those squad

    10th April vs Huddersfield
    13th April vs QPR
    15th April vs Coventry
    18th April vs Birmingham City

Can't help but feel a bit sorry for Coventry. Not their fault at all but can only work in our favour I suppose

Just seen on Coventrys local paper that their rearranged game vs Rotherham is potentially April 15th with their game after moving to the Sunday. So Rotherhams fixtures could be -

    Sat 10th - Huddersfield (A)

    Tues 13th - QPR (H)

    Thurs 15th - Coventry (H) TBC

    Sun 18th - Birmingham (H) TBC

    Weds 21st - MBoro (H)

So Rotherham will have 4 straight home games but will have 5 games in 12 days

In that period we will have 3 games

I'm officially starting to panic. Those fixtures look very winnable from a Rotherham point of view, even if they have few rest days I'd still back Rotherham to make up the 5 point difference with their 4 games in hand.

Any news on this from Saturday?

Chris Coles summed it up pretty well in the sportscene podcast from last night. Its towards the end somewhere. Sounds like its a lot of educated guesses due to limited information but still sums it up quite nicely.

Personally I'm not concerned if the EFL signed off our amortisation policy at first. It sounds like worst case scenario is a big fine. The only worry for me is that if we get found guilty surely we will appeal and may it drag on all summer and leave us in an embargo like most of last summer?

Marshall has made some fantastic saves for us this season perhaps his latest error is clouding your judgement on a very good keeper in Marshall.I don't watch scotland games

Saying that I'd let Roos keep the gloves for now but healthy competition is a good thing

Like all championship keepers Marshall has done some fantastic saves (Norwich away) but he's also dropped some clangers (as has Roos in the last few years since he broke into the first team) .

Marshall's clangers that I can recall this season; Forest at home, Barnsley at home, I seem to remember him dropping a cross at Brentford away that their striker should've scored from. He's also been rooted to the spot for a few goals that I thought he should've saved; Coventry at home and Preston at home spring to mind.

For what its worth I don't think there's a great deal between Marshall and Roos but I think Roos has been the better keeper for us and would let him keep his spot.

  13.                 Marshall (Not convinced by him though)

    Byrne Wisdom Clarke Buchanan

                      Bielik

                Knight  Sibley

    Joz            CKR        Ibe

Harsh on Shinnie and would rotate him with Knight or Sibley depending on the opposition. Not too fussed whether Wisdom or Edmundson plays to be honest. If Bird is playing he needs to be further forward in one of the Knight or Sibley positions, dont think he's good enough yet to sit in front of the back 4, his vision and passing isn't there yet

If you could pick the other 2 teams to go down with Wycombe who would you pick? Out of the teams in the relegation battle.

I would go with Birmingham & Sheff W. Cant stand Birmingham's fans & not keen on Chansiri so thats why Sheff W.

Also, under Rooney next year with his own players in I think we would get more points from Rotherham & Coventry than Birmingham & Sheff W.

    Huddersfield and Wednesday.

Would love that gobby gammon at Rovrum to join them as well if possible but Wycome have got no chance of survival

Well this thread got a new lease of life unfortunately

Excluded Florest as they currently out of touching distance, not saying they won't be back in the mire but personally I don't think so.

    Birmingham City15:00Luton Town

now this is an interesting matchup probably not for the football on show though.  Luton 6 points ahead of us same games.  Brum must be looking at this as a game that is almost a must win.  Both teams in poor form.  Based on our current predicament Luton to win but a longer term view is  draw would be best

    Cardiff City15:00Coventry City

Coventry being dragged into the mire with 3 games since a win but mostly due to the improved performances of the teams below them and they will be looking over their shoulders.  Cardiff 2 wins on  the bounce 4 unbeaten.  Cardiff win

    Huddersfield Town15:00Wycombe Wanderers

Huddersfield 2 points from 15 and the team most likely to make a late bid for relegation.  Everybody who plays W will be expecting/needing 3 points.  Can't see a surprise

    Rotherham United15:00Queens Park Rangers

2 form sides, QPR 12 points from 15.  1st goal likely to win this one, QPR please

    Sheffield Wednesday15:00Swansea City

Both teams on a roll, Swansea to come out on top

Rotherham match already called off due to a frozen pitch. Even Chorley managed to hire heaters for a few days leading up to our FA Cup match. Surely a Championship club should be expected to do the same. I can understand matches getting called off for rain and snow but frozen pitches seems a bit amateur-ish at this level

Not my interpretation at all. I checked too.

"I remember, later on in my Derby career, Keezy and Granty called me and was like 'mate, literally after that we thought you was a belter'. So I was like, yeah, it's understandable innit".

You can tell by Thorne's Intonation that he's acknowledging they had a point.

The much maligned Richard Keogh gets the blame again?‍♂️

Just listened for a third time. He says Keogh and Granty thought he was a 'belter' for that. Him saying 'understandable init' is them agreeing with him for refusing to play and wanting to go out on a free weekend.

Sorry for criticising the club captain for laughing at a young player refusing his manager's orders on his second day at a new club.

Keogh and Lee Grant both let him know that they thought he was out of order!

Just listened to it again to double check, Keogh and Grant were actually on Thorne's side and thought it was hilarious he refused to play for the 23s. I remember thinking that doesn't reflect well on Keogh as a captain when I first listened to it.
