Exeter were easy on the eye and that was about it. Possession for possessions sake is pointless.
I'll never forget when we played Shrew away last season, and had about 80% of possession. Cash made the most passes during the match in the history of forever.
We were absolutely toothless upfront that night.
Unfortunatelly we have players who are perfect for a counter and that is why our away form is so good. When it comes to dominating at home we have seldom been able. A very difficult quandary to overcome as home fans would rightly be pissed if we sit back and let the opposition dictate.
Last night was solid beef and very pragmatic. Worked a treat

There is plenty there, it just seems that it doesn't meet your criteria, which is fair enough.
I can see plenty of rationale for people supporting PW, results being the main factor of course, his recruitment against a business plan, his ability to set up teams to win games, the defensive record of the team, number of away wins etc.
If the evidence isn't available yet to judge him, surely that works both ways ? I was lucky enough to get to the game yesterday, however I did have a quick read over the match thread, writing CBT off after not even a quarter of the game as bad as the other PWs signings for example is just having a dig for the sake of it, must really suck the fun out of that thread.

I'm still not in a PW in or out camp, only that any manager should be given time regardless of who that is, however appreciate that everyone is entitled to their opinion whichever side they fall on, but imo there are posters, who no matter what he does, he will never be good enough for them.

Agree with this...I now remember why I don't like standing, not (just) because I'm old but the view is awful when you are so low down. It was very difficult at times to see what was gaining at the other end.
Also a moan on the roadworks, why so many, 3am I arrived home.....all of it was worth it though 😏

On the crowd noise, we were split into three sections, seated (yes 😲) on the side beneath the radio Derby commentary, then two separate standing areas behind the goal, one set slightly in front of the other.
Hence there were different chants starting in each section and not necessarily being picked up by the other areas.
There was plenty of noise but it was a bit chaotic.

    You think that long ?
I mean the list is getting shorter for things to blame him for, but inflation hasn't dropped this month...maybe his fault ?

Should start a poll asking which forum members will be unable to resist the temptation of starting another thread and for how long.
My vote would be next time we fail to win a game.

Yep it’s interesting that the poster minimise mcg under warne and perhaps nml by saying his goals per game was better than his best career season under warne when mcg dropped down before yet we have heard consistently how warne beasts his players and causes time out injured , well he got a tune out of mc g and is doing the same with nml ,
I just wish certain posters would give warne a fair crack of the whip , everything bad is because of him , everything good in spite of him is the default of some 🤷🏻‍♂️

Or the other team has better defenders or better keeper or if the ball takes a bobble, or etc etc etc.
It was designed for betting purposes, it's not accurate, watching a game is a better reflection than any metrics.
As per their website....Expected goals predicts the correct home team result 66% of the time and away results 58% of the time. This is slightly better than shots on target on the away results and slightly worse on the home results.

Like all stats, they can be useful with context. Unfortunately like with most stats, they are often used without it to try to prove a point.

To the outside world we must look a bit mad.  A team sat 2nd in the league and we have a thread about sacking the manager that reaches 120 pages.  And about 13.5, over 10%, of those pages since going into 2nd place.  This must be some sort of record amongst fan forums.  Most fans would be delighted to be 2nd in their respective league.
A lot of the concern and debate is about the football.  I get it may not be pretty all the time, but I also don’t think it’s as bad as portrayed in here. It reminds me of Mel sacking Clement and coining the infamous “Derby Way” phrase.
I also get the concern about PW in the Championship.  What I would say is, he’ll have far more resources to build a team to stay there than he ever had at Rotherham.

Lol, more attacks on poster rather than the post!
What isn't to understand from: "Makes you think, and if it was just about money how come we never managed to get another striker in?" Ie we have a large wage bill, so why no striker.
If 'competing' was just about having a big wage bill how come we didn't 'compete' for a striker this January? So 'competing' in the Championship (should we get there) may well be about more than money, as I said.

I am sorry but how is us possibly getting promoted to the Championship under Warne in any way comparable to us getting promoted to the PL the previous time over 15 years ago?
In 2008, the board and the manager were reportedly at odds and the board were seemingly unwilling to invest in summer 2008 to improve the team sufficiently. We couldn’t compete with the other promoted sides never mind the 17 others. The step up to the PL was huge back then. Is the step up to the Championship really anywhere close to that?
Consider that Clowes appears to be nothing but in full support of Warne and consider that once the restrictions are lifted and with the additional revenue streams to follow from promotion, we’d be able to compete financially with anyone else who gets promoted and probably around 6-10 other Championship clubs as a fair estimate. Surely that’s a far better place to be in?
What’s there to stop us from improving and adapting to the Championship well? Not only footballing sides do it. Luton and Coventry did it. In fact, if you look at Wigan, Barnsley, Peterborough and Blackpool as recent reoccurrences, it’s footballing sides who more often tend to go back where they came from.
    This fearmongering is outrageous.

Does your post not contradict itself though ?
The only way we can challenge the top end of the championship is by gaining promotion, which we are on course to do. Draws with teams like "Shrewsbury" are going to happen, unless your expectations are to win every game.
It doesn't just sound entitled but unrealistic, we need to get out this division first, unless your expecting the league to say, hold on, they haven't been down here much before, let's just give them a helping hand 🤨

I don’t need or mean to attack anyone and that wasn’t or isn’t ever my intent, so sorry if that’s how it came across.
I don’t see it in the same way and perhaps my latent anger with Morris came through in the post.
I don’t see it as being comparable despite the illustrative example you’ve included. I’m clearly being drawn into another circular debate in which I can’t see yours or the other poster’s perspective on this one so will bow out.

I'm not sure what relevance that has, it was 50 years ago. You asked if the foxes played the same when they were in the PL as they do now, the answer is no. Throughout their time in the PL they relied on mostly counter attacking football and the pace of their forwards.
Pretty sure we watered the pitch to stop football being played, to help win the league as well. But I was a only a young un back then so can't say for sure 😏

Nyambe spent 2 minutes on the deck being treated by the physio, after a full blooded tackle which put considerable lateral pressure on his right knee. I was surprised he was deemed OK to continue, but clearly he was still feeling it. So we lost him for 5 minutes of normal time, and lost two points, instead of perhaps losing him for a few games if he'd further aggravated his knee.
Keeping an injured player on the field is a big risk for the player concerned and criticising Warne for looking after the welfare of his players is obtuse.

More chance of getting away tickets if those who constantly moan when we drop points stop going... that said I'm not sure they go in first place 🤨
