Not true. That honour belongs to Arthur Cox when we lost to Hartlepool away by 2-1 on 17 November 1984.

The work undertaken by Craig Fleming in defining a compatible style of play for the academy and the first team is beginning to take place. Hence the recent restructuring of the U21 squad where some U18 players have been moved up as they have been identified as potentially having a longer term future in the advancement of the club. This is fundamental to the owner's vision that the academy has to be sustained and progressed as it is key to a brighter future for the whole club. What we are seeing presently is the first green shoots in the rebuild from the damage caused by administration. The people brought in to direct the academy have been carefully selected and come from proven backgrounds. So hopefully the quality you refer to will be recognised sooner rather than later as the restructure progresses.

Since he was summoned for a chat with the owner a fortnight ago after the Stevenage debacle things have certainly perked up; passing more and crossing less with consequently more chances which is also more pleasing on the eye; the manager and coaches actually attending an academy game in the youth cup at Mansfield on Friday and listening to the pleas for academy lads to play a part last Wednesday.
Maybe the manager would benefit from more such friendly pep talks to help him 'rock on.' He certainly seems a little more focused at the moment 🐏.

Banksy reacted to angieram in B4 - for ever a Ram 🐏
I have some very sad news this evening.  Daniel (B4) died earlier this week. He was just 38.
As you know, he has been battling numerous health conditions for a long time, but always remained cheerful  and was the most loyal supporter of his beloved Rams, home and away.
He was at the match at Crewe and gave his full support as always.
Daniel leaves behind a grieving dad, mum and sister. Our thoughts go out to them and we only hope they get a little comfort from knowing how well loved Daniel is by all who know him.
Here are a couple of photos that his dad agreed could be shared. I'm sure many of you have others, as Daniel loved a selfie at the game.
David is hoping to arrange a more fitting tribute in time, but for now please raise a glass in his memory and a good Derby win today. I am sure that's what Daniel would have been doing tonight.

He wasn't having a lot to do. Perhaps he orchestrated the clearance so he could demonstrate just how good he is with the brilliant save. It's most unusual for you Roy to counter a bit of positivity from a Derby County player with a big dose of negativity. Thanks for pissing on his chips 😆.

Your points are very valid in my opinion and I often think that Warne is careless when he speaks. He seems to just shoot from the lip at times and without always engaging his brain beforehand. It weakens his claims about the use and importance of emotional intelligence. It should be a learning curve for him.

1/  I never said he called anyone useless.  Someone else posted that.
2/  He did, however, bellow "Aaagh!  You are a bloody disgrace", seemingly in the general direction of a targeted/specific individual.
3/  Rightly or wrongly (The latter it seems, judging by your account) I always assumed that the phrase "For missing the target from there, you want bloody shooting" referred to a training ground shot on goal, not the taking of a corner?  Shows what I know!
4/  I like how we have diverted attention away from the much criticised Mr Warne.  Which is nice.  😁

But in doing that he was merely giving him an instruction to follow and not calling him useless. It was at Sinfin Lane in training and the incident was when Barry Butlin decided to take a corner. Clough watched and shouted that he didn't wanted him taking corners, he wanted him in the box because he was one of the best in the club (a compliment) and concluded that it was rubbish and he wanted shooting. I don't expect that Baz took another corner! 😂

First thing I heard him say about Bird was that, when he met him, he was surprised how big he was. Sure, Bird might have thought nothing of it at all. Or he might have thought ‘Jesus he’s telling the world he’s looked at the tapes and thinks I play like a wimp’. Careless personal comment. The McGoldrick comment was the most concerning, because if I recall correctly there was just a suggestion Didzy was faking injury. Did Didzy just shrug it off? Maybe. Did he even hear it, who knows? But: careless, careless, careless.  The description of his conversation with Bird about a possible transfer made me cringe, because Warne managed to give the impression that Bird’s loyalty to the club was paper thin, that he didn’t care whether he stayed or left. ‘Belittle’ is too narrow - I just mean anything that could lead a player to take the hump.
As I said about 6 posts ago, I think he’s come to understand he needs a clutch between his ego and his brain
Whether fans always hear these comments is not the point. The point is: players in common with most human beings listen very carefully to what their bosses say about them, especially if it’s said in public, and they are often proud, paranoid, prickly and prone to petulance. The best managers know how to use the microphone to motivate their men

How many times have you watched them in the academy? Brown is doing really well and that's why people have been clamouring for him to be considered for the first team. Weston, who is a couple of years older, has also settled in and done well this month. But don't make your mind up on just one game otherwise Collins has sealed his place for the rest of the season tonight after being slagged off on here by many for the past few months. Brown's not lazy and usually it's him that makes things happen, more so than those around him.

My own opinion of Warne’s man management isn’t just plucked out of the air. I started posting in late ‘22 that the way he speaks about his players in interviews was a recipe for an unhappy dressing room. There was a specific comment about McGoldrick - relating to an injury (I’m guessing, but maybe around Nov 22) where Warne tried to be funny whilst taking a dig at Didzy. It was careless., misjudged and disrespectful. Warne has so far as I can see stopped doing this now - last time I can remember him at it was when he was speaking about Bird’s transfer.  It’s the sort of thing he could perhaps get away with at Rotherham but many ‘bigger’ players won’t put up with it. Even before Didzy left, I would have assumed his and Warne’s relationship was frosty.

Then Didzy left, having had his best season ever and with the weekly adulation of 26,000 people ringing in his ears. The timing of that move didn’t stack up for me (for football or financial reasons) tho I accept there’s plenty to debate in that. I think that if he’d enjoyed playing for Warne he would have stayed.

I don’t mind people questioning the opinion in that last sentence but it’s not plucked out of thin air.

Normally I'd be all for that. Radcliffe was out injured this weekend. In respect of Davidson and Brown, we have an FA Youth Cup tie at Mansfield on Friday and they are both eligible for that, which could put a question mark over whether to include them against Wolves.

Meanwhile, here are the highlights from the Middlesborough game: https://www.mfc.co.uk/videos/4cdab4c9-f119-4bab-8d96-9f7996f04252.  There doesn't seem to be any sound, although that could just be representative of the atmosphere that the Smoggies manage to generate these days.  As you'll see, the goal is not one where cover ourselves in glory, but hopefully it will be a learning experience.

Well said. To go with the first team's 4 against Northampton, the late two at Crewe today and the U21's four against Manchester City last week. Good that some can still show balanced appreciation.
