Sorry, but Wildsmith should not be being beaten by that free kick. Not good enough.

We're not being outplayed. Neither team is playing any football. No team on top.

The question was literally framed as "It's important not to get carried away with outside noise isn't it?" so Barker had every right to answer the question using the very same phrase.

    And here is some sense.
Clowes is tied in with PW for the long term irrespective of what the fans think IMO.
Leaving PW in charge even if we don't achieve our (primary?) objective of securing promotion makes business sense when you consider the alternative. DCFC has to be run as a business, and to run a business sustainably,, one cannot exceed budgets and pump considerable money into the club. He has to balance, as best as he can, the finances.
Granted, we all want to move up the leagues, but the angle that our owner is looking at this is probably very different than those who are demanding he turf PW out.

Nowhere near as bizarre as those who having pleaded with Clowes to save the club at a price of around £10-15 million over the odds, are now demanding that he stump up an additional £2 to £3 million in compo for Warne and his team. I've yet to hear a single suggestion as to how this will be financed and that's before we even consider the cost of fresh contracts for the new gaffer and his people.
And even if Clowes had it to spare and even if he was of a mind to spare it, how TF is he going to achieve all this under the current EFL business plan, or had folk forgotten that small matter in their haste to get Warne out of the door?
This kind of expectation with zero accountability, nor commercial rationale, is the very definition of 'entitled' as far as I'm concerned and more than a few of us are guilty as charged.

We should never feel "entitled" purely based on stadium size, fan base, city population, or number of teams in the city/immediate area. Our performance expectations shouldn't be based on these metrics.

I wouldn't go as far as saying we have the best squad, it's very lop sided.  We have very good defenders, a decent midfield, but we're lacking in attack.  But as Warne has alluded to, there has been a dearth of decent strikers available unless you can pay silly money, of which we don't have.  Having said that, if they're played regularly enough I'd expect Waghorn, Collins & Washington to get 10-15 this season

That's a great post despite it offering a different take on things than me.
I'm still very much right behind Warne and advocate time, but It's an interesting angle.

I advocated before that Warne should be given until xmas but now I no longer believe that should be the case. I think his attitude is turning increasingly sour on the club, i.e., not going over to the fans, increasingly moaning in the post-match pressers and his 'bubbly attitude' has been melting away for quite some time. It kind of indicates that he's in a fight for his job, and he doesn't really seem that up for it, tbh.
I also think the direction of the play, the club, and the players is backwards. He's actively making us worse, not better. I understand there are periods when a team is settling in a new direction where we may see a downturn. But we are 1/4 of the way through the season with his squad, and let's be honest, it's about as bad as we could have imagined. Having concerns over the style isn't the mark of a customer necessarily, as @Leicester Ram argued; it is perhaps the mark of a philosophical inclination about how you would ideally like to see your team play, which is different. Yet, if we were effective at playing an ugly style people would not be booing and calling for his head. The problem is that we're playing ugly football and are ineffective at executing it.
This drills down to tactical questions. Warne seems completely inflexible with a poor appreciation for what's happening on the pitch. His substitutions oftentimes don't yield results and his analysis doesn't match up with what everyone else is witnessing. He uses phrases such as 'working harder' 'more aggressive' 'more crosses' when we have a team full of ball-playing, technical attackers and midfielders. His inability to adapt to the resources given to him and brought into the club is the mark of a stunted tactical mind who is either unable or unwilling to change. He's frequently misusing players both positionally and putting them into systems which doesn't get the best out of them.
I also think he seems quite temperamental and seemingly finds it difficult to be challenged. This trait has reared its head in public forums and interviews that he's given, which indicates a lack of confidence and character. I doubt it's a happy dressing room, and I don't believe he's someone who can dig us out of this funk. Indeed, I think he's mistaken in the size of the job. He once said it was no bigger than at Rotherham. Well, at Rotherham, I imagine he cultivated a culture where he knew everyone from the tea lady to the director, creating a single-minded unity without that much outside scrutiny. Here, it's a whole different ball game and I imagine shaping the culture to his desired ways is quite difficult with the size of the institution.
Ultimately, I believe if Clowes sacked him now, he'd be doing the right thing. Warne has over a prolonged period of time disappointed with results and has had brought in enough players for it to be called his squad. I can't see us going anywhere under him at this point as we don't seem to be changing anything. I believe that's largely because he buys the s*** he's saying on radio derby. If Warne genuinely thinks this is good and we're just unlucky we should get rid of him asap before he does too much damage. Previously I have said give him until Christmas, which i could still stomach, but i think it'd just be throwing more points away.

It is quite possibly the worst football I have ever seen a Derby team play, certainly for a prolonged period of time.

For what it is worth. The players have to take some responsibility.
Everyone saying we aren't playing them in positions that suit their style of play is fine, I get that.
However most people would agree that most of our players are or in paper at a standard above this league.
So why aren't they playing like it? Even if they aren't in their favoured positions they should still be able to play football.  So why, when they are out of position,  do they lose the ability to pass, control the ball, read the game?

Nope. The majority I talk are behind Warne as, aside from the turgid football, they can see the bigger picture and they recognise just what a difficult ob he has when you go through the many extenuating circumstances.
He needs and will be given time. I'll say it again, a few disgruntled fans won't change Clowes mind. He gave Warne a 4-year contract for a reason.

Unrest between the supporters is quite possibly detrimental to the team. I wasn't surprised to see some vocal ill feeling toward PW, though we cannot excuse the players in this. Where is their fight. Where is their passion? It's too easy to blame the manager. Yes, it's his job to instill that into the team but c'mon...these are professional footballers that seem to be lacking some of the absolute bare essentials of a player.
I am not defending PW here, on the contrary, he is coming under pressure for the first time in his tenure. Fortunately for him, he has what on paper should be the easiest home game of the season coming up in 3 days.
I would be shocked if Clowes wasn't anything but 100% behind PW. Clowes has a vision which was clear giving PW the long contract. If we finish outside the play-offs, I believe PW would still be under no significant pressure. The owner would be likely disappointed, but as part of a 4-year strategy; another year in League One would not be a complete disaster.
That's how I see the situation, but the ill feeling, as much as it didn't surprise me, was sad to see.

    5 years - a competitive championship club.
Longer term, a top championship to low premier league club as we go through our ups and downs.
Don't expect to revisit league 1, have minimal seasons faffing around the dregs of the championship.
Paul Warne is so beloved that several notable bladies have bobble hats tattooed onto their heads in dedication to the great man.
