DiggerB reacted to Rich3478 in Transfer rumours
We’re bidding outbid on wages for a particular player, there is a difference. Warne and club obviously have an idea of what sibley is worth salary wise. Rotherham seemingly value him higher.
sibley isn’t a keep at all costs player is he, is a player we’ve moulded into a wing back but otherwise struggled to force his way into team regularly.

Cashin is not leaving this summer and defiantly not to Forest.

Nah. Younger, we said. A winger turning 30 mid season ain’t that.

Still, Stockport’s only 22 miles for them, so that’s good!🤣

I'm not too concerned about the loss of Wildsmith.
He did well for us, but personally I'd only say he is a decent keeper. He isn't commanding, he isn't the best with the ball at his feet, and when the pressure is on he is likely to make a mistake. I also hate his ridiculous time wasting which winds up the opposition and turns the referees against us in close games.

😢 in the end he was a surprisingly good addition to the club. There’s a sense of closure in a way that a number of those who joined after admin to help rebuild the club are heading off with a sort of “mission accomplished”.

I disagree. There was a home game mid season and Fozzy was in a race for the ball with a younger attacker, can’t remember who, no half yard, right foot advantage. He won it, (just !)
Also .. watch how he heads a ball .. one of the few who can direct a defensive header to a white shirt. He’s also cute enough to play the line ball inside or outside to a runner he has actually seen. No he isn’t the dynamic striding forward man that he was 10 years ago but he is an able and intelligent footballer with another season in him. Not retrograde .. intelligent use of a loyal and experienced player.

I'm willing to accept Bolton are now the best team in League One

Completely deserved win for Oxford. I would have originally liked Bolton to go up because their fans have suffered similar financial woes to us, but Oxford have earned it. They came back after their mid-season wobble (started by us) and had the momentum coming into the playoffs.
Bolton haven't threatened at all today and nearly bottled it against Barnsley. I've little sympathy for Evatt as he hasn't endeared himself to anyone with his comments post-game. His days might be numbered.

Just tuning in, and delighted to see we're about to witness a posthumous Bald Eagle Treble.
Marvellous!

Glad he departs with the golden glove but I think that was largely due to the defence in front of him. I actually feel he was better last season. Nevertheless he was a good servant but he's someone I am not sad to see go as I think we can get better

I wasn't convinced with Wildsmith, not a bad keeper but not a great one either. Next season's keeper is likely to be more involved and a better keeper would be welcome.
The new keeper's distribution needs to be better as will his decision making when coming out for the ball. I would like someone who dominates his area a bit more as well.
Wildsmith gave away 2 poor penalties last season coming out to meet a player on the edge of the box, also the incorrect sending off was due to rash decision to spread himself whilst outside the area, it was only luck that the ball hit him in the chest. Whilst in with the home fans at Cambridge, I saw and heard both Nelson and Bradley screaming at him to come and take the ball, both players having to clear the ball for throw ins in a dangerous situation in the end.
Oh, for a 'Mart Poom' out there.
