Has he lost his edge? They're saying he's become a toothless tiger ?

True. How else do you describe a side when you play them? You can only go on where they are at the time. You never know what can happen over the course of a season. Last season, for instance, one side, who shall remain nameless, lost their opening 7 games and nicked a point at PP. At that point you'd see them as relegation candidates. They got promoted. In the end, it's all opinion and they vary. Go back to August. We beat Oxford at PP and lost to Charlton away (should have got a point IMO). Most fans thought both would be topside come the business end of the season. Neither are.

In the UK, fine. However, I don't live in the UK.

The other reason that I'd definitely want to keep playoffs is that particularly in the Championship with teams with big wads of parachute payments, is the bigger danger is that the automatic slots get locked out by teams with lots of resources, looking 'bounce back' to the top flight. Having a top 6 at least gives a better chance of someone with more modest resources just having a good season. Once you are in the playoffs then its a bit of a lottery even if there are still favourites and dark horses. A full season and limited automatic-only places tends to favour teams with more resources and bigger squads.

Fills clubs coffers too. Right now there's 8 clubs in with a shout and possibly one other extremely rank outsider. If it was top 3 we'd only really be looking at the top 4. It helps to keep club gates up and thereby increases money into a club's home gates. Once out of the running for a playoff place, club's gates will drop.
Money from the playoffs is divided like this...
Semi finals. The gate receipts (minus allowable expenses such as police, stewards, etc) are split. 12.5% of the total of all 4 games goes to each of the 4 competing clubs. 50% goes into the Pool. That is the pot paid out in prize money to clubs dependent on their final place in the League.
Same for the final except the 2 finalists get 25% each and the other 50% goes in to the pool and gets redistributed across all L1 teams depending on their final league position.

If we get 20 points from the last 10 games, and that is feasible, Wycombe would need 28 points from 11 games and up their GD. I'd rather be in our position than theirs.

Just turned 69. Been having 2 yearly stool checks since I was 55 here in NL. The most recent was 2 weeks ago. Negative, thankfully. Unfortunately, once you get past 75 they don't send you the test kits any longer.
I managed to avoid what @BaaLocks failed to do. The English teacher in me (not literally @Mucker1884 ) wanted to comment but common sense won the day.
Several have said "blood from either front or back, get checked". I endorse those comments. Better safe than sorry. Basically, if you don't look after you, nobody else will...

What got me was, they were top, we were bottom, losing 3-1 with 1 minute to go. Absolutely no need to cheat. I wonder how many more of his "goals" should never have been.
Fantastic player, no doubt about that but one has to question his apparent need to cheat just to bump his "stats" up. Hardly a role model...

Looking for a foul is nothing new. Check this one out at 15:30 in. Last minute of injury time. ManU 3-1 up against us at OT. If I remember correctly, ha also "manufactured" a free kick in the same game.

A ref should only give any decision if he's 100% sure.

Used to be in the Laws that a player caused an opponent to end up on the floor. Causality has been removed from the wording. It should be put back.
According to the current wording, the smallest, feather-like touch is enough for a penalty to be awarded. It's making a mockery of the game.

Obviously there was nowt wrong with the starting XI in the 1st half. 1-0 up at HT and might have been more. They changed personnel and how they played 2nd half. We failed to react to that change. Not the first time that's happened.

Yet another tale of 2 halves. Worth the half time lead. They were the better side in the 2nd half. Stats say nowt in it. Both had 10 shots, they had 5 on target to our 4. The difference being the penalty that shouldn't have been. Awful decision.
The hardest games left are Wendy and Posh away and Ipswich at home. Minimum of 3 points from those is necessary. The other 8 games need to bring 20 points in. That would be 84 in total and enough to get in the lottery.
Having said that, our record against the top 8 isn't all sweetness and light. Ipswich and Barnsley look good for the playoffs. The other 2 places are between Bolton, us, Wycombe and Posh, IMO.

The press seem to think it's the suspended 6. It got suspended because they agreed to a 2 year business plan. It seems they have not stuck to the plan. Time will tell.

When I were just a lad we'd be in the ground from 1, hoarse by 2 yet still outsinging the oppo fans at 10 to 5.
