My interest in England has got less and less over the years. FIFA decided to have this in the middle of a season.
If I miss an England game then so be it.
Derby is far more important than any national game or a tournament that comes around every four years.
    I'll be at Pride Park

I don't get all this BBC is special, no it isn't. It's just another TV service. I object to being forced to pay for something I don't want. If it was so good let people pay for it on a subscription basis or introduce advertising.
I can understand historically why a TV license made sense. All the infrastructure had to be paid for and it was only fair that those using it paid for it. Times have changed and the BBC is a dinosaur of an organisation.

If they keep the Pappa Johns not sure what they can do with it to make it more of an interest. Get rid of the U21 teams, Get rid of this penalty shoot out nonsense after a draw, Include national league sides. Make all games free to view on BBC. make all disciplinary offences isolated in the tournament so it doesn't impact league games. Make the money a club can make significant. Play the final at a decent stadium, near the two finalist. Not at Wembley.
I'll be honest I have no interest in the games and see all games pretty much like a reserve match

I haven't seen the away performances but basing it on the home performances I would make the following observations.
There seems to be a problems all over the pitch. Maybe its the formation or the players. When you build from the back you have a few options, long ball or tipy tappy looking for a killer pass or an outball to the wing. with the high press it is very hard to do the tipy tappy and I don't think we have the players with the ability to do that. I also think Wildsmith is a little dodgy from time to time and doesn't inspire confidence.  We currently don't have full backs that will bomb on like nathan byrne and lee buchanan. These were the outballs from defense and worked with the L and R midfielders. Now the wingers have to try and do it all on their own.
So tippy tappy didn't work. Then LR seemed to be keen on Forsyth holding a high line on the left and the ball is played long to him to nod down. Actually this did work quite well and fozzy did do it well. however it is easy to stop by just putting a big guy on fozzy. The other option is to play the percentages and hoof it up the middle and get someone to win it. However we don't have the players to do it. You need a striker like CKR or Martin. Battering rams that can rough up the defenders. This is never going to be Collins or McGoldricks game. So where does that leave us. Long ball doesnt work, tippy tappy doesn't work. playing down the wings doesn't work. maybe a formation change. 3 at the back and wing backs. We need a formation to suit the players at our disposal. Painful as the Plymouth game was you have to admire how they attacked. They cut through us like a knife through butter time and time again. We cant do that. If an individual doesn't do something brilliant we can't carve out a chance. Liam has got a lot to sort but I'm not convinced he has the ability to do it

I think Barkhuisen could be one of our best players. I thought when he has played on the right he has looked brilliant. The problem there is you'd have to move mendes lang to the left. A lot of square pegs in round holes at the moment

I think the decision to offer the role to Rosenoir was based on need at the time.
A club needed to be rebuilt fast from a very difficult place.
Multiple recruitment decisions had to be taken.
The recruitment decisions weren't made on the basis of if we had a transfer budget, but on who we could bring in as a free agent.
In my opinion the correct decision was taken to recruit experienced players who had previous championship or promotion from League one experience.
I'm not saying that some of those older players have resale value if we don't get promoted this season.
That built up a team, a huge amount of players brought in.
Most teams in League one brought in a couple of players, we brought in a team. That takes time to gel.
Rosenior was a gamble, but who could you get to come in at short notice that was experienced with the club.
Would I have preferred a different manager, maybe John Terry or Judy marsh if they had accepted the offer to manage the club.
The question isn't easy to answer, that's because if your a decent manager and your offered a job in League one, with a team that requires a complete rebuild and doesn't come with a transfer budget for two year, that might not interest the people you want to hire as manager.

People forget that we’ve been absolutely awful playing away for 3 years playing this style of football - nothing will change until we stop playing this style of football in away matches.
it hasn’t worked in the past, doesn’t work now and will never work in the future !!!
it’s very simple really, the manager needs to change the style of football, or we need to change the manager,,,,,,, it’s that simple !!!!

For me it is a pointless trophy, even for the teams lower down. It's insulting to have to play under 21 teams.
Why don't they scrap the EFL trophy and the EFL cup (Premier league teams don't really give a toss about this one). Make one tournament that only the championship and below play and include the national league teams.

The only thing of importance is the premier league, don't you know. All us other teams are just there for their benefit. We have no value in our own right. It stinks doesn't it. Sky/Money has screwed up our football league system.

That would be so funny, cancelling a papa johns trophy match for an international break. I'm sure Man City have plenty of other players that could fill in. Just shows what a joke the U21 thing is and its supposed purpose of helping develop English talent.

Its designed to give the rich clubs a competitive game for their huge young squads. The ultimate aim would be for them to have "B" teams playing in the lower leagues.
Everything is engineered to make the gap bigger.

Why are the EPL teams even invited to play in EFL competitions anyway.
I thought they we different organisations now!?!?
When rules around FFP have been broken by clubs eg: Bournemouth, QPR etc etc whilst in the EFL that club is then subsequently promoted to the EPL the said club is then untouchable until they re-enter the EFL.

Absolutely agree. It’s not even as if they add a touch of glamour as they’re not allowed to play their stars even if they wanted to. If it’s purely to make the numbers right then I’d rather teams from the National League were invited. They’ve got more in common with the other teams in the competition that the PL under 21’s.
