A lot of players that might have considered staying are now going to be dashing for the door as soon as possible.

I see one more twist in this. I'm afraid he will not pass the EFL's unfit and improper test. Shame he is a clean business man, EFL won't like that.

Makes me vomit how the EFL now want to appear so involved and proactive, after royally shafting the club in any way they sought, to appease parasites and frustrate progress, for months on end.
When the takeover has been confirmed and the EFL finally issue their glorious self-regarding confirmation, they can royally phuck off and properly scrutinise all the other Championship clubs that are deep in debt and apply their 'rules' just as rigorously.

Typical garbage by EFL. Sale of PPS has been a significant challenge? No it hasn't. Boro claim that EFL supported.. now that was a significant challenge. Sale of PPS  was agreed prior to CK dropping out. Clowes loan and possible bid is another major factor which they don't really cover.

Oh and I see they are now doing checks on source of funding. Shame they didn't do that with CK.

Obviously, it's been a very difficult situation for the EFL, punishing derby enough to not be sued by Gibson, punishing derby enough to feel like a big man, but then realising derby going busy would be a really bad thing.
    Poor EFL......

If clowes is basically putting his money up to save the club and give others a chance, say a year, to get their house in order to buy him out, then that will do for me.
If he is doing it for a long term rebuild, and multi year ownership, then that will do for me.
Always been about the club surviving. It was clear about 2 or 3 months into this situation thst we would come very close to going under and not existing.
The fact thet someone, anyone, is willing to attempt to clean up the mess the club is in is, quite frankly, astonishing and shouldn't be overlooked.

Almost. These sort of bids could have been looked at ages ago if EFL/Gibson claim had not been threatening a possible £50m liability in the future. By the time CK was preferred bidder, that damage had all been done, and his was the only bid on the table.

@alramso as not to muddy the waters can we just discuss one subject at a time.
Ive gone to the trouble of screenshotting the club balance sheets as at 30 June 2014 and 2018.
If MM was not introducing his money as equity, would you be kind enough to explain to us why the share capital and share premium accounts increased from £50m at 30 June 2014, to £163m at 30 June 2018. Thanks.

Historically the EFL have caused all this allowing Boro and Wycombe to hold early bidders and Q and DCFC to ransom not to mention the fact they started all this with appealing amortisation and ground sale after Derby had been cleared by tribunal and not accepting that Covid 19 was an issue with no games etc.

When asked the question previously on more than one occasion they have always been dead set against it. Their concern seems to be centred around what we as supporters would expect in return for such investment.
I have felt angry with them ever since, because any attempts to involve the fan community in solutions has been pushed away as if only the 'great and the good' can decide Derby's fate.
I feel they have been patronising at best, and I could say a lot more.
RamsTrust has shared all responses they have had from the administrators. But Quantuma made their views on engagement clear a few months ago imo when they issued that statement about how much it was costing!
Please don't think that because I am on the EFL's side in this latest issue, that I think that they are any better, because I feel they have behaved appallingly as well. As have Mel Morris and potential purchasers.
I am now rapidly coming to the conclusion that the sooner we get an independent regulator in to sort this shambles out, the better.
Too late to help Derby County out of our current predicament,  but desperately needed.

We were a bit miffed that we couldn't get free tickets for the final day of the test today, thanks to the selfish buggers who snapped them up and then didn't show (judging from the numbers of empty seats.)
So we went back up to Chestefriendly and enjoyed our own victory in the sunshine. Good choice! ?

I know it's all what's, whys and wherefors, but what if they hadn't rolled over bared their bellies to the EFL and left the issue " in abeyance " in the hands of lawyers?
We'd still be a Championship side. Yes we obviously wouldn't have avoided the -12 penalty for administration, but we'd be a much more attractive option.
Any half-decent lawyer could have exposed the EFL's inconsistencies in not having a written policy of amortization, allowing us to interpret that inconsistency in otherwise perfectly legal accountancy practices, then the fact that they  retrospectively changed their rules, announcing that " the straight line method " was retrospectively the only way. I think we'd have had an excellent chance of winning that argument with a robust " lawyered-up " team.
These legal ramblings would have rumbled on for many months, well into next season. Meanwhile we'd be a much better business opportunity for any potential buyer. Even to the point of paying the extra £8m or so to avoid the --15 points by being more generous with our creditors.
A Championship team, with our support-base, coming out of administration free of debt is surely worth £8m more a Division 1 team, starting on minus 15 points, with various suitors fighting over our carcass for ever decreasing amounts.
With wise management and spending we could potentially have had a good shot of getting to the Premier League.
The current way things are shaping up we're a Division 1 club starting on -15 points.
Am I being too idealistic? It could have been so different. It's not as though accepting the extra 9 points deduction got us anywhere...

But only in accounts based on the amortisation rule that wasn't in place when we committed the 'offences' - think Morris suggested that using his method, we'd only slightly breached for one year.....

Debatable, especially when every practicing accountant were of the opinion that we didn't break any accounting standards.

So, it's known that the King doesn't attend such events. It's a great shame that @angieram says he won't be there on Saturday though.
Do you know why Colin Boulton wasn't there last night?
I hope the new owner, when in place, reaches out to all ex-players.
