NottmRAM reacted to S8TY in The Administration Thread
We all owe Mr Clowes for acting and saving our football club and as I’ve said before his name should be sung loud and proud before kick off against Oxford
I also think although he saved us he will not be a long term owner unless it’s sustainable or he gets good investment and could still sell us lock stock ans barrel to someone like MA in the future
but his part in saving us is just amazing …his statement said it all …something needed to be done ans he’s done it …so if you read these forums Mr Clowes Thankyou very much !!!
Thousands of Derby fans will sleep better tonight ??

Just listening back to last night’s Sportscene, I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but around 23 mins in K. Maguire talks about our ability to generate £9million pounds per year compared to the likes of Burton £800k and Rotherham (double Burton’s). Also mentions there are 700 players who’s contracts expire on the 30th so should the takeover happen and some sort of business structure be arranged quickly we should be able to compete in the league. He then goes on to discuss the Pride Park ownership info that’s changed on Companies House. He also talks about the potential financial implications of being in league one and how our club size could benefit us. I’m aware there’s a speculative element to what he’s saying and it may be that the reality we face is very different, but interesting to hear.
Also has Stuart Webb discussing the Arthur Cox years, it’s a good listen if anyone hasn’t already and has an hour to fill.

So what a ruse by mr Clowes, to save us from quantuma !
he’s quite the man and such a fan, loves cloughie and Steve bloomer
Yes pride park’s now his curtilage, so much is not in doubt
but we don’t know who’ll own the club until this has played out
he’s named his price (we hope it’s nice) he’s now a stalking horse
If needed he will take the reins, jump fences on the course
But will he win the derby (and is that what we want most?)
Or will a shirebrook pony come and pip him at the post ?

Exactly, Mel was being chauffeured around even before he got into Candy Crush, such is the man's ego. I know people who know Mel and they say he has just "been lucky".
Don't forget Lionel Pickering was also a fan.
Gut feeling is that David Clowes is a genuine guy with no ego. I could be wrong – there’s always a first time. ?

I know nothing about Clowes and have no inside information.
My gut instinct tells me that Clowes, if he rescues the club, is doing so out of love and duty for the club, and not to massage his own ego or reputation.
I can get on board with him being a reluctant owner, a bit like someone becoming carer for a poorly relative and if it goes through and he owns the club, I hope sincerely that the toxic element of our 'fan' base either stay away or grow up.
I very much doubt the EFL would allow us to anyway, but I also instinctively feel that this is more about saving the club than splashing out on players and chasing a dream.
The club/team COULD find inspiration from any feel good factor from the terraces, so I hope that the fans give it.

As he is a fan of the club (but this applies to all teams) he will know how fickle football fans are and I don’t think the social media mob will have any real impact on owners.
Speculating here, I think he has stepped up his bid to save the club rather than just buy the stadium (which is a done deal apparently) because I imagine he like everyone else is frustrated at this process and probably has the means to save us and run us for a while so he’s gone for it. Either way we should all get behind our new saviour and buy a clowes developed warehouse each.

Hopefully the current bidders “offering less” than Kirchner just involves them paying 25% up front rather than 35% over three years. Don’t want to fail to make that level and end up with yet another 15 point deduction. League One is one thing, but League Two would kill us off.

Appleby's tenure was not a success and we were not run in a fiscally prudent way, here are the numbers
2008 a year when we received a parachute payment - Profit of £1.76million
2009 Loss of £14.9 million
2010 Loss of £2.16 million
2011 Loss of £7.67 million
2012 Loss of £7.93 million
2013 Loss of £7.06 million
2014 Loss of £7.04 million
2015 Loss of £10.06 million
So in total during Appleby's leadership there were cumulative losses of £55 million, how is that the best financial health of the Rams in the modern era?
GSE pulled out because they wouldn't or couldn't keep bank rolling the losses and if El Presidente Sam Rush, (who sacked the manager who reduced the payroll by over 60% and signed some outstanding players for peanuts) ever gets near the club again he would probably complete the destruction of the club.
History always repeats itself
