He's here on loan to prevent a meltdown.  It hasn't worked clearly and we now have a 5 month passenger we're still paying ,trying to avoid injury.

To be fair to Bird he doesn't seem the type to give less than 100% - and especially to us. Plus why does he need to avoid injury? He's already secured the move, he's only here on loan

Put a deal sheet in and tell Bristol to hurry up. Or tell them to hurry up at 5 and threaten to cancel the deal if they don’t seal it pronto.

Plus we had a whole month to address this issue.

No way should we be going in to the run in with 1 fit striker. I’m sorry even Burton and Carlisle have signed a striker. Dreadful.

Are Burton and Carlisle working under EFL business plans?

Did their outgoings (i.e. Moxon to Portsmouth) get completed today?

Why do you think Championship clubs like Bristol City and Wednesday are going to act in anything other than their own interests?

It doesn’t matter if you have a day or a month, it won’t stop clubs from trying to get deals that benefit them.

Please tell me we have somebody or a team looking to invest in Derby in the summer to join clowes get rid of the older players and started doing some proper scouting in the lower leagues and league 2 and bring in players who we can make money on instead of leaving for free every season and not generating any money to invest and get rid of the current ceo and replace him with a football person or a director of football

None want's to go to a club injured.  We're the exception to the norm as we actively search for invalids on 2 year deals.

There’s no excuses chief.

A club with our budget and expectations set by the manager himself shouldn’t be going in to the run in with 1 striker. If Collins gets injured on sat are we just supposed to shrug our shoulders and ruffle Pearce’s hair. “Don’t worry lad our seasons over, but you did have restrictions to adhered to”.

You recently told me I couldn't possibly presume that players like Bradley and Ward are on good money, because I haven't seen their contracts.

Yet you seem to be very certain about the limits of our budget and terms of our restrictions.

It will help the club financially, which is still an important consideration to make whether people like it or not.

And perhaps we’ll have more muscle when the transfer window comes around again in the summer.

Please not another warne needs another window, any more windows he will be living in a glass house he doesnt sign players

Why is it an excuse?

Transfer plans sometimes come together and sometimes fall apart. There are failed transfers in every single window. Why get so worked up about this particular one?

If we have a business plan that we have to follow rigidly and stick to, then it’s an obvious factor in why other clubs can complete deals more smoothly and why it is more problematic for us.

The power is with the EFL and the conditions they have put in place and the clubs who will try to take advantage of such a situation.

Are you seriously suggesting our business plan makes us less able to bring in players than Carlisle and Burton?

In a time-sensitive situation, absolutely. In ordinary circumstances, absolutely not.

Depressing stuff. Invest from a position of strength they say. And this. Brewers had a better window.

Really concerned about the stalemate we face now. We have an owner who loves the EFL business plan which requires books to be balanced. He likes it because he doesn’t have money to invest himself but probably won’t want to sell until we get promoted which could be this side of never. We have a coaching team that isn't the best at attracting players, cannot see the importance of a strong midfield. Warne’s additions havent been the best either, blowing this years budget on Bradley, Ward, Elder, Fornah none of whom improved first X1. We have an academy which the club must see as a cost centre rather than profit centre. It just doesn’t deliver the goods I’m afraid. That situation looks like a stalemate while the squad continues to age.

Hope Clowes is searching for a new investor rather than being starstuck with the status quo. Yes he saved the club blah blah but there comes a time when that is in the distant past and it no longer is a get out of jail free card. We need a Warnock type to light a few rockets under playing and non-playing staff.

Because we’re in a 4 horse race this season and next season it’ll be a 10 horse race.

Theres being positive and then theres being blind.

So if Collins gets injured you think the predicament we’re in is acceptable?
