therealhantsram
Had the pleasure of going to see him perform. He was 82!! When I saw him. Great night out. Great songs. He's up there with the real greats along with the likes of McCartney and Lamont Dozier. ramit
One of my favorites. He had a wonderful sense of melody and feeling and his lyrics were such a positive influence. Few artists have had their songs covered as widely as he and for good reason, he was one of the very best. RIP Brother Crewton

Brammie Steve
I love the story of Cilla Black's version of "Alfie". Burt Bacharach is said to have made her do 31 takes to achieve what he wanted!https://www.abbeyroad.com/news/abbey-road-90-the-story-of-cilla-black-recording-alfie-in-studio-one-3063 Crewton
therealhantsram
This is the song that introduced me to Burt Bacharach. LOVED this in the 80s... Gaspode, FlyBritishMidland and ramit
Crewton
If we're talking favourite performances of Bacharach & David songs, this one is up there for me, not least because I think Jerry Butler is one of the most underrated singers of all-time. Posts like this make this forum, imo. I'd never heard of him, loved his voice from that clip so delved a little deeper. Imagine being so great that Curtis Mayfield sings your backing vocals! Then co-writing only the strong survive, amongst many others. Thanks for bringing him to my attention.
