I remember the period well but excellent that your book will tell us what was happening in the background. I remember everybody being totally underwhelmed when Bald Eagle was appointed, and the first few months seemed to underline that sentiment. I remember LP explaining why he'd got Jim in and he cited the Jim Smith Portsmouth side that had come to the BBG the previous season and won 4-2, playing us off the park. Then in comes Stimac...and voom! What a season. Jim had of course very close links too with Oxford Utd, who of course we play on Saturday.
