"It's not fair!!!"

- Verstappen delivering his stroppy teenage tantrum for this weeks race. Tune in next week for the next instalment

I'm sure he was just commenting on the timing of the safety car right after Perez made his pit stop, i mean it sucks, but that's racing.

Or was it the other drivers are also trying to win the race he was saying was unfair? "let us work on that for you" from the garage....

It was when he was crying about Leclerc. I just think he's so immature. Horner's gotta stop letting him stay up late.

According to failed racing driver Christian Horner, he never wants to go to sleeep after drinking his 5 cans of high caffine energy drink and all the other kids are mean to him and it's the teachers who are picking on him and that nasty lewis parked the car on his own head. You're all so unfair to my Maximillian.

I really think "Failed racing driver" needs to be added in front of "Christian Horner" more in F1 coverage, it explains so much.

To be fair to Max, Kelly Piquet would keep me awake

Yeah, they're nowhere near the Ferrari and red bull, I think most of the midfield teams are seeing them as gettable.

They went down a very specific development road with their car and then the real world didn't match the data. The engine being off the pace as well isn't going to help.

I very much doubt they'll be much better in Melbourne, although they'll have learned from the set up mistake with Lewis this weekend.

Perhaps by imola they'll start to bring updates and be more competitive.

If they still suck after Spain its season over for them.

Williams also went with tiny side pods and it's not working for them.

Add to that McLaren and Aston Martin as big failures this season. Stroll senior trying to Mel Morris his way to his kid winning in F1 not working at the moment, McLaren are only just coming out of financial problems so I'm not that surprised they've dropped back, but how far is worrying. Lando did good though and if he hadn't retired Danny might have got 10th.

He didn’t complain when he sneaked six tenths out of Leclerc’s lead under the virtual safety car.

Hey!! That's just driving to the limits!

He's young too!!

(There must be an age where behaving like Kevin and Perry becomes unacceptable. Any idea when he'll reach it?)

I've never understood F1s desire to have this race. It's been tried before (in a car park) and it sucked then, it'll suck in 23 but with more lights. I'm not expecting great things from the Miami Gardens stadium car park track either.

I know they'd like to have a 3rd race in the US, but it's not as if there's no race tracks in the states................

I really hope this doesn't come at the expense of a proper track and there's a few I'd rather have brought back (Germany, Sepang etc) than this.

But then, i'm not into gambling, casinos, don't see any appeal to visiting Las Vagas (grumpy ol me etc) but clearly the marketers think a lot of people will be into it.

I don't know why they haven't gone for a track, well I do but it's purely down on the marketing aspect of it being a LV street track within the lights, it does have a bit of a spectacle to it but wouldn't be surprised if it's similar to the Jeddah circuit at speed.

Guess it's more about the expansion into the US for the Drive to Survive casuals.

F1 never cracked the US but Netflix might have done it for them though. Shame because they just want their car to go round and round in circle whereas as you say Europe is where the hear and sould of F1 is

Thing is, I don't really mind them having a 3rd race in the USA, but pick one of the good tracks, upgrade it to meet F1 standards (well, FIA safety standards, they could slum it in- in relative terms - facilities) - I know Laguna Seca and Senoma are probably too small, but then, the red bull ring isn't a long lap.

The thing with "cracking America" is, America loves motorsports and has Indicar as well as sports car, GT, NASCAR, all sorts of home brewed madness motorsports so selling them on snooty europeans with tickets 4 times the price for races that are frequently dull (and I say that as someone who deeply loves F1) is tough.

My but is, I think most street tracks suck.

One look at the layout and i thought "Sochi with better lighting"

I read that Jacques Villeneuve was questioning Lewis' ability after last weekend but having read the article now it wasn't as controversial a statement as it was headlined as, more just saying that he hasn't really had to push to win for much of his career due to excellent cars, which may be true to a point when your car is head and shoulders better but that hasn't always been the case. Still, the argument that Lewis has only ever won anything because he has the had the best car is a silly one because the winner simply cannot win a championship in anything other than an at least very competitive car. Lots of people have been kissing Max's arse for a while now and the guy has undoubted talent but stick him in the current Aston Martin and he'll be nowhere because it is just not competitive. His petulant tone at the weekend wore thin very quickly and I think that Horner just fans the flames of the ego of his 'special boy'.

Mercedes are in a midfield battle currently and there is fundamental issues with the car but that's just how it is for now. Even with safety cars Russell finishes over 30 seconds behind so it's cheap to take a swipe at Lewis in a car that is just not competitive. I'm really pleased that Ferrari have finally come to the party with a competitive car but would love even more to see 3 teams up there fighting for wins not just 2.

Agree with RadioctiveWaste re street circuits. They don't do anything for me. It's either dangerous carnage with no room for error and endless safety cars or stoppages or an absolute yawnfest of a procession that provides all the entertainment value of a 2 hour warm up lap.
