Well, that was eventful.

Ferrari 1-2 and they are the fastest car for sure.

Red bull are close to ferrari on pace but clearly had some hilarious issues.

Merc 3rd fastest car and got lucky (i mean Toto must've been laughing so hard)

Great job by Haas - I hope they start getting that plucky little team who gets racey energy going again this season.

Looks like Alpha Tauri, Alpine and Alpha Romeo and Haas are going to scrapping behind the three big boys.

Then big fails from McLaren and Aston Martin.

Williams hard to judge, still a back marker but not a terrible car.

Think Ferrari have he best power unit but we'll see whether they have the quickest car all-round once we've raced a few different track layouts and RB have fixed the niggles.

Mercedes were pretty fortunate today and would have been a long, long way back without the safety car. Worryingly, pre-quali I thought they might have produced another beast of an engine but were struggling with aero, but I'm not convinced anymore. Toto himself saying they need to sort the aero but that they'll be trying to extract more power from their engines too. Even with DRS Hamilton couldn't get to the Perez so that's a big concern. Long old season but I don't think many expected them to as far off the pace as they are. I certainly didn't.

True it's only 1 race, and we'll have a better idea 4 or 5 races in. You're right, it seems ferrari engine is good and the merc engine has gone backwards if you look at the customer teams.

I suspect the mercedes is a good car with "issues" to be fixed but until they fix them it's off the pace.

After the excitment of a missile attack to remind everyone that Russia isn't the only country currently waging a pretty unpleasant war, there were discussions, and, after everyone was informed of the consequences of not racing, including "difficulties in leaving the country", the Human Rights Grand Prix is set to go ahead as planned.

Qualifying is at 5pm, race tomorrow at 6PM.

Any truth in the rumours that Horner reported the Missile to the FIA for breaking regulations?

Wow - Hamilton out in Q1 - something seriously wrong with Hamilton this weekend - over half a second behind Russell….

Yeah, it's not normal.

Anything from a high risk on a setup they'd not tried before quali to simply not wanting to be there after the missile shenanigans, but he's not that far off Russell on ability.

Mick Schumacher trashed his car, I hope he's okay. Looked nasty.

In hospital for observation, seems physically ok. Doubt he'll be cleared to race tomorrow.

Apparenty it was set up on Lewis's car - they tried something after their FP3 set up and obviously went too far and ruined the car. I'd expect them to change back and make some progress tomorrow.

2nd time Perez has out qualified max, he did it at Imola last year. seeing as he's usually 3 tenths off max in quali and he's never really been a qualifying specialist it's really surprising. Happy for the dude.

Horner must be fuming.

The Red Bull is quick, the Ferrari is gorgeous and just looks perfectly balanced, the Merc has the pace and cornering ability of a JCB - they have some serious work to do to be competitive this year….

Be interesting to see how Merc manage with the car with shorter turnarounds and more races this year. Interesting to see the gulf between Russell and Lewis.

Love that Ferrari too and really enjoying seeing them be very competitive again
