jimbo jones
Another great signing using Mickey’s connections, 34 year old Sri Lankan seamer this just announced his international retirement, so he comes fully committed to the cause. Often playing second fiddle on spin friendly pitches in Sri Lanka, he has a great record on tour where 130 of his 168 test wickets came. Tall, quick, accurate and generates swing and seam, fantastic addition to our young bowling group. Carnero, Gaspode and Gap tooth ram

jimbo jones
Leus Du Plooy just finished his time with South Western Districts with a career best 186 and then 33 no to win the game and will return to join up with the Derbyshire squad. Scored plenty of red ball runs, hopefully brings that form back to Derbyshire sage and rammieib
rammieib
I still think we're a couple of good players short. I hope to see some players come in before the season starts. jimbo jones

Not sure if Mckiernan or Thomson can take on the full time spinner role and win games for us. Also probably means Dal is batting too high at 6. So if we can find another top order all rounder leg spinner that would be great ? Hans Datdo-Dishes

With those two we would win more than we lose. rammieib and jimbo jones

(I want to be proved wrong). A Spinner (Will Scrimshaw be good enough?) and a Batting-all rounder would do for me - No confidence in Hughes to deliver enough. Let Reece concentrate on this batting this year. I appreciate we're Derbyshire and therefore have no money but Hughes, Dal, Cohen, Thomson are all just average players for me without a real niche. At least Wood or Came are more set up for one-dayers. I'm hoping there is budget there and we will see someone added before the season starts. Don't think Cohen deserves to be with the other 3, the lads only 23 and is a genuinely quick left arm seamer with a bowling average of 26. Needs to take a step forward this season though, stay fit and be more consistent. rammieib
