He had lost his place in the side - Huddlestone is ahead of him and Bird if ask me so it was his only way of playing football after a 3 match band as the under 23s  - he has had some good moments but also some poor ones but he is 22 so Cocu will treat him like any of the youngsters

If he’s not match Sharp, which he may well not be after 3 games out, then playing him in the U23s is the correct move to get him back up to speed. Sour grapes from the agent who probably misses out financially somehow because Bielik isn’t playing.

Also considering he hasn't competed 90 mins since November at Fulham, he definitely needed game time.

Very interesting interview from Chris Coles on sport at six on Radio Derby with a knee surgeon on ACL injuries.

On recovery times, possible secondary injuries and how clubs scan and assess players on how likely they are to suffer this sort of injury.

Interesting that he said for professional sports around only 65%  return to the same level, 25% a level down and 10% never make it back.

I would say that Thorne was part of the 65% after his first ACL (at West Brom) and part of the 25% after his second.

It’s too late now for this season but I think when he gets back he should duck his agent off and knuckle down get himself fit and match sharpe and concentrate on establishing himself as a good championship midfielder

obviously this was beyond anyone’s control (re the injury) but so far Krystian bielik Derby career can be described as disappointing if u consider our outlay on him

Not sure if it's good or bad that I doubt we'll really miss him this season.

The shame is he'll miss 6 months of working with Rooney and developing into a Cocu player.

No real need to replace him. we've got plenty of options there, put our time and energy into getting players that fill gaps in the squad.

He didn’t need to play in that game on afoul night .

If the manager thinks the player needs a bit of game time to get sharp then so be it u23 or any other. But that is a daft statement sir im afraid, how the hell would you know what he needs?
