But of course you could trust Jeremy because his motives are pure and would have been for the good of the people ? .. come on get a grip.

Jeremy would have turned us into a carbon copy of Venezuela. Probably can't afford a smartphone in that socialist utopia.

I can just imagine what will happen when people start downloading the app. You will get people putting in they had covid-19 'just to see what happens', and then by the time my mums got hold of it and tried to ring me one day then realised shes been pressing the wrong buttons and registered the entire street as having covid-19....

You’re speculating on something that has currently been ruled out. However, if that really is the only way to protect me and the people I care about whilst at the same time giving the economy a chance to recover and thus going some way to lessen the effects (financial and lives) of a deep recession then, so be it. On balance, perhaps naively, I trust the government to restrict access to the data and only store it long enough until it is no longer required. My failing may be naivety whilst for others it’s paranoia.

Yep for me there’s somewhere in the middle ,not really a full on conspiracy theorist but there are issues that need watching too

was interesting bill gates on bbc interview regards vaccinations stated governments would need to indemnify vaccine companies with regards to vaccine given to the masses ( compulsory?) , given that there has been quite major problems with recent vaccines programs for other things in places like Africa causing health problems including deaths , sterility and other health problems it’s an area that needs real consideration,

a compulsory worldwide vaccine ( recorded on cell phones to allow normal life ) can’t be something that is worse than the virus if not fully tested and proved safe

At the end of the day not really sure we need an app for this. If the Government are so desperate to know where we are and who with, the could just ask Facebook or Google!

The purpose of the app is to advise other people that have been in close contact with a suspected/actual infected person so that they can take appropriate action not for the government to harvest data on the population.

I dont know anything about it, and have no issue with being tracked...i would hope though that if you receive a warning its not possible to determine who it is, it could potentially put people at danger from idiots who decide to treat that person like they are some sort of sex offender or something.

And what was the purpose of Facebook, Alexa and Google Home Hub?

I dont really have a problem with, I have nothing to hide so dont care if the Government know where I am and who I am with. I already have the GoodSam App which I think gives the Government my whereabouts.

Can understand why some may be very suspicious and unwilling to download this app though.

Same here. I can accept and understand that others may have concerns but I don’t. If we were worried about personal data held by the NHS being misused, well I reckon they already hold plenty in our medical records.

Not sure what you’re implying regarding Facebook, Alexa or Google Home Hub.

Riots in lockeddown Belgium...I see the European project continues to thrive despite our absence.

There is a little more to the story than your comment suggests. It seems to have been triggered by a youth who crashed his scooter into a police car and died after evading police. I’m not exactly sure what that’s got to do with “The European project” or the fact that we’ve left the EU.

Isn't the point that we're not supposed to be interacting?

I'm implying that they were also not supposed to have access to your details for any untoward reason...
