ViewsFromTheMiddle
Shame that. Morocco deserved at least a draw.

Alph
Boya is right. The game is about who scores the most goals and not who's better at tikka takka. Messi creates far more goals than Ronaldo. That div must be one of them people that say the only stat that matters is the scoreline. So nothing else matters. Not the pass that makes the pass that makes the pass that makes the goal. If scoring is all that matters then Zidane was overrated wasn't he?
Bris Vegas
No point in opening the debate. Messi and Ronaldo are two different types of players, the only reason there is a comparison is because of Messi's quite frankly superhuman goal scoring numbers. He's a number 10. World Class number 10s would classify 20 goals a season as an excellent campaign. Messi regularly scores 50. He won the golden boot award last season and he isn't even a striker, he's a creator. Ronaldo should be compared to fellow strikers such as Lewandowski, Luis Suarez, Edison Cavani and Harry Kane. He's currently better than them all even at 33 so that illustrates just what a phenonemal player he is. But don't compare him to Messi. You wouldn't compare Ronaldo to Phillip Lahm or Toni Kroos. So why compare him to Messi. Completely different type of players who are only talked about in the same breath due to scoring figures. If Messi and Ronaldo played together, which they easily could, Ronaldo would score 80 goals a season with the amount of chances Messi would put on a plate for him. Alph
Did you know Ronaldo checks to see if he's on the big screen more often than he scores. That stat matters. Because it means he's a twit.

Gritstone Ram
He ought to have a make up case instead of water at the side of the pitch.

Kernow
There’s really no need for another Messi v Ronaldo debate because it’s resolved seven simple words. Messi is the greatest of all time.

Don't reckon much to Portugal bar Ronnie, same with Uruguay and Cavani/Suarez. The two teams they have played are poor. Hopefully Spain can spice things up but I fear it'll be a pretty simple walkover.

Expecting Spain will quickly knock one or two in then revert to battery saving mode, keep ball in the middle of the pitch. Won’t make for entertaining viewing but understandable give the opposition, nothing to gain going all out. Russia or Uruguay, neither would give Spain any cause for concern so finishing second wouldn’t be a bad thing if they get done on GD

RadioactiveWaste
The Ronaldo is better than Messi argument is a higher level version of Hendrick was better than Hughes. There's plenty who are happy to obviously and vocally wrong, and there's the rest of us that know Will is a bit special.
