So Sky Sports have reported that there's been 20 credible applications...would be interesting to guess who those are....can only think of:

Frank Lampard

Dean Smith

Martin O'Neil

Igor Stimac

Darren Wassall

Steve MaClaren III

Nigel Clough II

Nigel Pearson II

Alan Pardew?

Mick Mcarthy?

I guess with that figure there must be a number of foreign managers as well as someone else mentioned...

Warburton, Carlvaho, Lambert, 2 or 3 from abroad......

Michael Johnson as well I imagine. He's been a coach for so long now he must be looking at getting a top job

Not that I'd want him in that role right now, the dirty red ?

Considering Chris Coleman and Alan Pardew as 'credible applications' is being incredibly generous to them. Absolutely useless the pair of them.

Just my guess that they’ve highlighted us as their next pay day

I think Lampard might be up for the challenge. Do I trust this chairman to give a young manager a credible amount of time and support, I’m not sure. Like others have said, Lampard being appoint will get bums on seats. It’d certainly get me excited.

We have nothing to lose at this point. Expectations are low. Give him a try!

Dug a little bit and found a screenshot on here from 2015 of when the odds shortened massively for Clement before he was announced.

(FYI: Before Clement was in the picture, every candidate had similar odds)

Jump to 2018, Lampard is 1/5, with other candidates like Mick McCarthy and Paul Simpson on 14/1. Do odds really shorten that much compared to the rest of the pack, if there was nothing in it?

No, they shorten when someone puts a tenner on.

How does Michael Appleton continue to get jobs???

If Mel's prepared to give Lampard a shot, why not Bellemy?  Read rave reviews about him at Cardiff's academy, he's a bit of dick, but I can imagine he wouldn't take any crap from the players, and at least he's actually coached...

Agree 100% @SouthStandDan after what we’ve done in recent seasons let’s go for youth in playing staff and coaching/ managerial (fresh ideas) ??
