Whose bench do you think he'll elect to sit on next season? I'm going for Besiktas.

Wisdom seriously needs to sack his advisors.

He could have signed for us back under Mcclaren, he could be approaching 100 games for the rams and may have gotten himself a big move out of it.

Instead he has gone to West Brom and failed to live up to the hype, gone to Norwich and failed to live up to the hype and most recently Red Bull Salzburg where he has played 7 times.

We could nab Wisdom on the cheap. A lot of people will ridicule it, 'people need to stop trying to rebuild the 13/14 team, move on, bunch of bottlers' etc. But what I'd like about that is that he's now a the stage where he is undervalued by a lot of other clubs.

If you're talking about bang for your buck, Wisdom's a top shout.

He's still young, he suits what we want (a physical, defensive RB to play behind Ince), has a point to prove which gives him that hunger Rowett is looking for and he has an attachment to the club/fan base already. But his stocks low coming off the back of three seasons on loan not settling at a club!

Just logistically, if there's a Championship club he's likely to want to sign for, it's us. He has more value and possible upside for us than any other team in the division.

He reminds me of Ince as to where he is in his career right now. Ince had shown a lot of talent coming out of his years at Blackpool/Liverpool, but didn't find the right fit for him at Palace, Hull or Forest. Came to Derby when his stock was down, suited the system and now we have a player worth a lot more than what we got him for.

The same goes for Chris Martin, no matter your opinion of him. Showed early promise at Norwich, then wasn't ready to make the PL step up. Had a bad time at Swindon and Palace on loan, then came to Derby where he fit the system. Now he's worth near 10 million. We brought him in for FREE when his stock was low.

We should be buying players who we can improve. It's easy to buy Nick Blackman, Bradley Johnson and Jacob Butterfield coming off really good seasons/form, but how many of those have lived up to expectations? Have we got our money's worth with Blackman? We definitely won't be getting our money back when he leaves.

To rule out Wisdom on the principal that you should 'never go back' is completely irrational, when you assess him just as a player, he's exactly the type we've had success with. Just because his early success was here at Derby instead of Blackpool or Norwich doesn't mean he's not a good transfer target now.

Not sure what Wisdom's attitude is like - I remember somebody tweeting him about how he's sat on the bench for a rubbish team or something this season, and Wisdom replied back saying he wasn't bothered because of how nice his wage slipped looked. Perhaps he was just trying to make sure he had the last laugh but it seems that maybe he's got the wrong people around him and is looking for money rather than a good footballing career

And if so, here endeth our interest in him.

Just been having a read through this thread -

Everyone seems to think that we need to purchase a new CB this summer. Who though? If we want some serious quality in that position, we're going to have to spend big.

Personally I think we may be able to tempt Grant Hanley from Newcastle once they've been promoted. He's not been playing much there and almost certainly won't in the Prem.

I personally was really glad that Rowett in his post match interview, deflected critism away from the two Cbs for the amount of goals we concede from corners, free kicks, crosses etc.

There was a radio derby caller who attributed all our 88+min goals conceded to Pearce and Keogh. It seems to be the same on this forum with the recent anti Pearce posters. Also 2 seasons ago when our promotion bid collapsed everyone blaimed Keogh for the rest of the teams inability to defend and leave Keogh to do his job, and only the job he should be doing (instead of everyone elses).

For every corner and set piece we concede theres usually about 6 of their guys waiting for the cross, and usually goes in from the men of bent, butterfield, de saat, well anyone really. but still.... its always Pearce and keoghs fault, despite the fact they are actually marking their men. Im not sure having Shackell in the team is suddenly going to magic the rest of the team into defending high balls, or even stopping the crosses come in, in the first place.
