That drone footage made Pride Park and Chaddesden look like a bustling metropolis akin to NYC.

Other than that, it was irritating how often they cut to show the crowd when play was going on and the punditry was rubbish. Didn't seem like any of them even watched the game. When Paul Ince is making the most sense, you know you're in trouble.

Needed more Trevor Sinclair and Ian Wright.

Yes, it was a bit of a pain. I was just hoping we didn't miss a goal when they were showing the crowd and bench...

Gary Lineker didn't watch one second of live football last night but Shearer never took his eyes off the game, pressed up against the glass, supping tea.

Neither did you if you spent the entire game watching Lineker and Shearer ?

I disagree with that in parts, some of the drone footage of the stadium and the crowd cam angles for the goal were top class.

Agreed. Loved the one showing the entire West Lower celebrate when we scored

This has been written like Sky, BT or the host broadcasters of any international tournament don't cut to shots of the crowd at regular intervals.

These shots are never used in interesting passages of play and some people might find crowd shots more interesting than watching Chris Baird waiting for a ball to be thrown to him from Row N of the East Stand.

I thought the punditry offered genuine insight, spotting things I couldn't as someone who has attended live games their entire life.

The first 10 minutes of build-up were entirely about us and summarised our strengths under McClaren really well for the viewer who doesn't watch much Championship football. They were also very accurate, saying how Hughes' career appearances are even more impressive in the context of his injury last season.

I much prefer the BBC and Gary Linekar's relaxed style vs Sky and their smart suits and their THIS GAME IS LITERALLY THE MOST IMPORTANT AND SERIOUS THING EVER coverage.

I know it's fun to trash things and it can't be to everyone's tastes but personally, as someone unable to go last night, I was glad it was on BBC.

You know, if you had got off your fat arse and gone to support your team in person, then you wouldn't have had to worry about the BBC coverage.

Just interested, but what's the beef with Lineker?

I wonder that too, given what some say about him.

But, I'm sure there must be something wrong with me, as there isn't a single pundit or commentator, that I have any issues with.

With a slight possible exception for John Hartson!

To be fair, I was there but recorded the game and watched it (or bits of it) when I returned home and concur with the original poster's view that, while all coverage cuts to the crowd and managers, I thought the beeb did it so often it bacame quite noticeable and distracting.  As a result, I'm glad I got off by (literally) fat arse and went to support my team in person.
