The booing is embarrassing, disingenuous and helps nobody. If you boo, you're an absolute cretin and should just sod off. If you want to boo like a child, go to the panto. Or better still, sing a (positive) song about Derby.

so how is a STH supposed to show their disapproval? They cant vote with their feet so how do you suggest they let the players and club know its not acceptable putting in poor display after poor display?

Why has a season ticket holder got different rights and requirements? Or especially mentally challenged that that they need to form a big B with their mouth and go B ooooo? I've been a STH and non STH and booing is not something I need to do, no matter how disappointed I am. Do the booers boo in the other elements of their lives where things don't go as they hope? Didn't enjoy that film tonight; boooooo. Didn't pull up town last night; booooo. Didn't have a good day at work today; boooooo. That steak wasn't great and the service wasn't very good in my favourite restaurant - and it was my birthday too; booooooo. Massive tailback on the M1; boooooo.

Dont agree with my post? Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

See, it's embarrassing.

i watched the game with my toon mates and they asked what our support is like at home. I said they're not bad but weirdly there's a booing culture that's evolved over the last few seasons with a minority of ******. They were surprised and thought it was just their lot who had that type of juvenile faction. When the first goal went in I said 'wait til half time'. And guess what? Booooooooooo. Full time; boooooooooo.

But you know what, keep booing yourselves hoarse but understand it has no effect whatsoever, other than demotivate and alienate the players / manager etc, embarrass the other Derby fans and ensure that opposing fans laugh at us.

Do we need these constant threads ?? If you want to boo then boo, if you don't then don't !

as Bernard manning said said if you like chips eat chips !

its everybody's club and there are no rules on how to support it, so enough with the moralistic bull shine.

the singing and flag waving has just about dried up so obviously things are not great.

its just differing opinions and that is what keeps it real.

Just dropped by to comment on your (and ours) next game thread but this topic from the top of section caught the attention.

There was a similar thing on one of our forums recently and it caused some level of hostilities.   But it applies to all clubs in the league right ?    Those in favor of booing players - and those who jump to the defense of squad members who receive abuse from the fans.

Maybe you won't be aware but at Portman Road we have had one of the most expensive season ticket prices in the league - and for a time, the most expensive - and when you got fans paying a four figure sum to watch nine months of garbage and uninspiring play, you can expect some level of reaction.

If fans decide to vent their frustrations at respective playing personnel during the duration of a game then I got no real problem with it, so long as it's within the boundaries of decency.    It hasn't gone without notice for instance that Derby has say 'underachieved' in recent seasons and missed out on a promotion or two when the opportunity has presented itself to really do something, so anger may rise if the team continues to fall further behind, or not progress as they should.

I agree. I have no problem with people booing. IMO it's pointless and serves no positive purpose but I can totally understand why people would do it. Sometimes I think the mandate of a 'supporter' can go a bit too far. When all said and done, these players are highly paid professionals who aren't going to the stocks after a poor matchday to get rotten eggs hurled in their faces. They have the best facilities, the best transport, the best hotels and the best lifestyle so if they take umbrage at some booing when much of the time it is purely justified then they need some degree of medical assistance.

I draw the line at abuse or aggressive behaviour as despite these players earning more in a week than most fans paying to watch them do in a year or two at least, they are still human beings and should be treated with respect. Exemptions are contestants on X Factor and Keith Lemon but other than that they should be afforded respect.

There are fans though that will start booing after 10 minutes of a game. Bit weird.

There is a thread on booing  almost every week.

Says as much about the team as it does the one's doing the booing.

I spend 90 minutes singing and supporting my team then read that some one has booed....not sure what that's all about, I suppose someone, somewhere may have booed, I certainly dint hear them, all I heard was great support for the Rams. We went a bit quiet for a spell, but I've lost me voice and everyone round me thought it was a good atmosphere today.

Maybe the ones who don't join in the singing think the atmosphere is poor......????
