Anyone heard about Daniel Pybus joining our youth team? 18 year old midfielder, ex sunderland captain and under 17 england international, believed he played against Tottenham coming off the bench perhaps as a trialist?

Where's this come from? His Twitter has him firmly as a "professional footballer for Sunderland AFC".

Seriously struggling to make the step up, Zanzala, Bennett (injured), Calero, Mcdonald  (released), Mitchell (first team member) haven't been replaced, therefore expecting a long hard season for the lads.

Thought with us gaining catorgy one status we'd be bringing in players from further afield too.

Absolutely. We've had a step up in class and significanty weakened the team. Very odd indeed not to have done any recruitment. Does the transfer window apply to the academy or are we still able to bring people in?

Not sure it's been weakened as much as mentioned.

you need to factor in the return of Rawson, the demotion of Hanson, the return from injury of Lowe and the promotion of elsnick (already played as many first team games as macdonald and calero combined)

we are now playing against teams whose youth budget is bigger than our entire clubs budget, of course we are going to find it tough.

We are in it for producing players not winning the league or even competing this year. If we can get just one player promoted or ready for the first team squad, this season will have been a success.

we had four players in the youth team today that have been in the first team squad. Which is a good sign.  No Lowe means he must be involved Saturday for the first team

this season will really sort out the players who can or can't make it unfortunately

vernam looks like he is giving it a good go, maybe the next to roll of the production line

Calum Mcdonald left back; Shaq Mcdonald pacy but small in stature striker. Calum still here, Shaq gone. Scored some spectacular goals whilst on loan last year but probably not got enough all round game at our level.

Excuse spellings!

Forgot about him!
