I hope this is more 'silly season' journalism. If this happened I think it would show what an abject lack of ambition there is at the club.

I think that the next appointment- whoever it is- will tell us everything we need to know about ambition at the club. Coppell and Wassall, Wassall on his own, Rowett and so on are unambitious vanilla options.

We only have to look at Newcastle, for example, should Benitez stay to understand serious intent. It'll be also interesting to see who Villa appoint- and I guarantee you this- Wassall, Coppell and Rowett (regardless of the Bluenose connection) won't be on their shortlist. Yet, Pearson almost certainly will be. Says it all really.

I have just heard burnly manager just brought a house in little eation.

Burnley Athletic?

Worst scenario is Pearson goes to florist after we turn him down and he makes us pay big time.

I can't see how Martinez would sort out any of the defensive issues we have faced but if it was a straight choice between him and Tactics Tim then I would take him all day.

Defensive issues?

Tim sherwood ?? whats the attraction ? he has done ***** so far.

I think i'd prefer rowett or warburton out of that list

Absolutely. Sherwood is a real smoke and mirrors merchant. Style over substance.

Going by what ive just watched we'd be better off going for Alan Stubbs instead of Warburton.

He'd get injured 20 minutes into the first training session and have to retire.
