Norwich fans reckon Johnson is best on the left, however we aren't going to play a flat 4-4-2 so whether left attacking midfielder would suit him, who knows? Let's say it does then I wouldn't mind seeing either...

Carson

Baird Keogh Shacks Fozzy

Thorne

Butterfield Johnson

Ince Martin Russell

or..

Same back 5

Thorne Butterfield

Ince Weimann/Russell Johnson

Martin.

I have no idea, but for the sake of FIFA:

Carson

Keogh               Shackell            Buxton

Thorne                   Hughes

   Butterfield                                            Johnson

Ince                                             Martin                                        Russell

I have no idea what formation that is, but it has Buxton in it.

A slight tweak.......

i like the idea of having two attacking full backs

lets score some goals

I would say Hendrick the most likely to leave, very salable and good enough to expect first team action.

I would say Dawkins, he cant buy a game under PC for some reason, even when we had only 2 other fit 'proper' midfielders

Am I missing something here, most people pick Forsythe yet every game I watch he gives the ball away with two passes out of three?

Probably a bit of an exaggeration there. He is sometimes a tad sloppy with his passing but with Thorne, Johnson & Russell in situ he should have better (and closer) targets.

Our best 11 ?

------------------------Carson

Christie ........Keogh........ Shackell........Fozzy

............................Thorne

...........Butterfield...................Johnson

                            Hughes

..............Ince

...........................Martin

Sorry JR :(, and Christie cos i believe he's the better overlapping RB, and what a subs bench !!

Our best current 11, same, but put JR in for Hughes in a 4-3-2-1

I definitely think we've strengthened in the right place.

With Hughes out for the foreseeable, all the weight drops onto Hendrick and Bryson to be the heartbeat of the side, only for both to be in perhaps their worst form of their careers and for an extended time. A hungry Hendrick who isn't just walking into the side could be a very good Hendrick to have.

The most interesting thing will be to see how they are implemented. Butterfield seems as though he can play Hendrick's role, but where does Johnson fit? Norwich fans are vocal that he is far better at left mid than in the centre. To me I can see this being the end of the 4-3-3 McClaren used and Clement has at times. I predict that these are now our two primary systems before Hughes is back:

--------------------Carson---------------------

--Baird------Keogh------Shackell---Fozzy--

-----------Thorne----Butterfield------------

----Russell--------Ince----------Johnson----

----------------------Martin-----------------------

My main concern with this formation is how Johnson will operate. The 4-2-3-1 relies on technical players behind the striker with good ball control and vision, whereas Johnson strikes me as more direct. A lot of his goals are from counter attacks.

I think this could end up our primary way of lining up:

--------------------Carson------------------------

--Baird------Keogh------Shackell---Fozzy-----

---Ince------Thorne----Butterfield---Johnson

---------------Martin-------Bent-----------------

Johnson is freed up to run at the defence, and Butterfield (most chances created in the league last year) and Thorne will find his and Ince's runs. In Martin and Bent we have two of the best finishers in the division and in Weimann we have someone else who can run onto throughballs. I'm very excited to see Butterfield creating chances.
