Thorne last season now Hughes... We don't have much luck do we! Luckily IMO we have a good replacement in Dawkins/Hendrick/Bryson(Maybe due to injury also).

We'll miss him like Rammage says as he's the one with the key to unlock defences.

Time for Dawkins I think.

If Dawkins plays as he can our midfield will still be good enough to control games, just not quite as good.

If Dawkins is expected to play a CM role then there is no doubt we are going to bring in another forward. Personally I expect this to be our prominent formation/line up with the players we have.

                   Carson

  Baird Keogh Shackell Forsyth

            Thorne    Hanson

   Ince          Weimann     Russell

                   Martin

Even with this I expect us to get another forward. It will also be interesting to see if at some point PC decides to give opportunities to more of the U21 players.

Exactly my line up except Dawkins for Hanson.

gutted about the injury for hughes , but injuries are part and parcel of the game and this will mean somebody either in the club or a new signing needs to step up to the plate .We still have enough quality to reach  the premier league and i for one would love to see dawks come in and prove a few people wrong ; the guy is a talented footballer and he deserves a break

I think Dawkins would benefit higher up the pitch and having Hanson in that holding role will help out the defence a lot.

Yes. Plus Hanson is a set piece specialist. Hanson would help us defend better (concede less) and could easily score and assist more than if Dawkins because of his set pieces. Would also allow Thorne to at times take up an advanced role in the final third, keeping up the pressure on an attack. In a position which he can shoot, will shoot and will score goals.

I don't think Hanson's better than Ince at set pieces. As long as Ince doesn't have too many Bolton-esque off days.

Would be great for Hanson to get a run in the team, it could be the making of him. It could strangely turn Will's injury in to a bit of a positive, in that we get Hanson the experience he craves for.  Would also mean we have a worthy back up to Thorne in case he gets injured again.

His injury will also be the making of him. In particular he has time in which he can focus on building his upper body strength. He is a bright lad. He knows his weaknesses and I don't doubt for one second that he won't take this opportunity to focus on them.
