I agree with what you say but really can't see the extra wages coming cheap!

One thing you don't seem to have factored in is the stadium naming rights, will be interesting to see how this is treated in the accounts.

I know the wages will have risen, but I think it's probably been overhyped.None of us know what wages are being paid, and I've never trusted the 'reported to be' guff, because the 'reporter' always seems to be some ethereal character. Many say the contract extensions must have thrown up large pay rises -how do they know? Isn't £1k-£2k a week a pretty decent pay rise (not suggesting this was the kind of figure because, you guessed it,I've no way of knowing).

I did mention the ipro in my original reply to your post.I've assumed the deal throws up £700k a year, and I notice that Sponsorship and Advertising income rose by £800k+ in 13/14,which does nothing to make me change this assumption.Consequently,I see little change in this income for the current year. The accounts will show the income due for the year, rather than the amount actually paid.If we received more than a year's payment up front, then 'deferred income' kicks in to keep the extra received out of that particular year.

Confident Steve will leave in the summer. However, I'm also confident he is utterly focused on getting us promoted. I don't think he will confirm either way until we're done this season, or if Newcastle confirm carver isn't getting the job.

no problem with that really. FOCUS ON THE GAMES, NOT THE GOSSIP.

Oh ffs. Mac could burn a Sports Direct flag whilst having "I hate Newcastle" written across his head and some people still wouldn't believe him. There's very little we can do so let's move on and concentrate on supporting the lads.

ask him if he feels he owes the club some loyalty?

afterall we signed as a player and he only managed to play 25 games....

we gave him his first big break as a coach and he fooked off

we offered him a route back into management after his shambles at Forest and yet he doesn't seem committed to his new improved contract....etc etc

McClaren basically suggested that through a combination of superstition, integrity and respect, he will NEVER discuss another job, not even to rule it out. He went on to say that he'd be pissed if someone ruled themselves out of the Derby job whilst he was in charge here, a) because it's a great club and b) I'm in the job.

He admitted there was an offer for him to go in the 'Winter' but he decided he didn't want to go. Maybe 5 or 6 years ago, he'd have gone in a flash, but he loves it here.

He said he has NO intention of leaving until the board told him otherwise.

Why should he? Would the club show him loyalty if he were rubbish?

What happened after the 25 games? Did he ask to leave,or was he just flogged? (I can't remember the answer to that)

We benefited from the abilities he showed as a coach, the same abilities that got him the bigger job.

See my opening line.

Did Barker **** in McClaren's coffee or something? If we manage to beat Millwall and other results go our way so we go into the Reading game with nothing to play for, why would he not allow our club captain a few minutes off the bench to say a final goodbye?

Mmm, interesting. So either Sam Rush was lying about there being no approach or Newcastle tapped McClaren up.

You sound very angry calm down. Barker agreed with Mac about not playing for us this season, it's too late anyway. Move on!

Both McClaren and Rush answered this. I don't think we know the true level of fitness of Barker, apparently he cannot train properly and has to wear a special boot still. I think they worry about him regressing in his recovery if he plays for Derby this season. But they are recommending him to two clubs (maybe Burton and Oxford), and they hope he plays at Professional level again, but he's so far away.

As Ramblur says, he owes us nothing.

If he underachieved, we as fans wouldn't show him any loyalty - we'd either boo him or constantly go on to the moan-in and demand his resignation or for SR and the board to sack him.

Loyalty is so fickle in football. Fans are quick to boo players, demand managers be sacked the moment they go wrong but then cry loyalty when a player/manager has the opportunity to leave for a better club.

I got the same from this, he can do a Paul McGrath like job for a lower league team next season but he's miles off being good enough for us at the moment, he is wearing a protective boot and they don't want to risk him picking up an injury ahead of preseason elsewhere.

responsible approach, we will get the chance to say bye and good luck at some point v reading

What are SM and SR wearing?..... Hope they are both wearing Polo Shirts and they didn't ask some fan in Edinburgh for permission.

Now now Inverurie, I hope that's not a pop at the forum fashion correspondent.

If you complete my lynx survey, I'll send you my starter pack in the post.

In what way did I sound angry?  And I've not seen Barker agree with McClaren about him not playing ..... based off his tweets about wanting the chance to prove himself and his wives' tweets, he would love to play

Seen a few tweets, to sum up, Barker is leaving, Rush is staying, McClaren turned down Newcastle in January, he's leaving in the summer.

There's your problem.

Was SM wearing a pullover again?......he's very comfortable with a pullover.

I wonder if him and his mate SR have now gone down the casino to celebrate.

Already looking forward to another series of "Ordinary Lies", bound to be another series next year, but who's going to end up in who's bed?
