Your supporting years Derby best 11

Hello fellow sheep lovers. I know this topic is probably going to be a little against the flow of our current crop of present day topics and its probably something thats been done before. But here goes anyway, I always see threads across boards from time to time about Derbys best ever eleven, so i wanted to do a slightly different take on that and go with your best 11 whilst you have supported Derby.

So whether it has been 30 years or 5 years please share if you dare ,the 11 players you think are the best you have seen as a Derby County supporter. Obviously the wiser (Older) you are the more players you have to choose from. Ill begin and I have 16 years of Derby County to go with. It will be interesting to see especially from people who have only supported Derby for 10-20 years how many of our current squad make it in.

Wisdom        Riggott                  M Johnson             Forsyth

                     Hughes                  Idiakez

Osman                     Commons                       T. Smith

                                   Martin

Players who have for me narrowly missed out are Seth Johnson, Rasiak, Steve Howard, Kinkladze and Matt Oakley.

Perhaps if I'd been around longer I'd have a better calibre to grace the side, but hey ho.

probably more a weighting towards the Cox years because that's when I started watching us and he eventually got us to 5th in the top flight.

What strikes me about the Cox years is not the likes of Shilton, Wright and Saunders, who we all knew were class but the unexpected quality, 5 of which you have on your list - Williams, Hebberd, McMinn, Callaghan and Goddard - who, while solid earlier in their careers, just seemed to shine at Derby. See also Micklewhite and Gregory.

I don't think we have that enough any more.

Larsen Stimac Buxton C.Powell

Eranio Asanovic Hughes Kinkladze

Sturridge Wanchope

a couple of pointers:

firstly, this was more a team of some of my favourite players growing up as a Ram.

secondly, whilst there have been many decent CB's over the years (as well as Claude Davis 50p head), I lumped for Bucko as the emotional leader alongside the captain. As I write this I remember Paul McGrath played for us in my early years, he rotates with Bucko

Boulton  Webster  Todd  McFarland  Nish  Durban  Carlin  Gemmill  Hector  George  Hinton

Boulton gets the nod because, on the very few occasions he made a mistake,he didn't try to blame others for it. Durban gets the nod over Rioch because I found some of the latter's challenges highly distasteful. If we'd had Dave a little earlier,he'd have waltzed into my midfield.
