sage
Have all the new contracts given to existing players made it significantly more difficult to improve our squad with regards to FFP regulations?
Cam the Ram
Doesn't look like it if the reports of us bidding 2mil for Thorne, 1mil for McClean and 1.25mil for Juke are true
HertsRam
I guess with all the improved contacts to key players its making less funds available due to ftp, although having come so close maybe we should push it for one season and hopefully it will see us over the line. Then premier league money saves the day like with qpr
Srg
Bit difficult to say. a) we don't know our budget within FFP, despite what some say they've worked out and b) the transfer window has months to go yet.
inter politics
Who knows what will happen with FFP but it does seem we're 'all in' this year, which is slightly nervy but more exciting
Derbados
We'll have to wait and see I suppose, this window looks to be a lot trickier than the last few, under Nige we were usually done and dusted after the first week!

Do you think there could be a scenario "c" whereby we say stuff FFP a la QPR and go for it **** or bust? Maybe not to QPR's extent, but you get the idea. Ewetube
Sorry should have said, I'd personally be very uncomfortable with this approach.
nfb
I will stand corrected by Ramblur or someone else with a better understanding, but my simplistic understanding of FFP is that its just about balancing the books over the years... I say years because again my understanding is fee for a player is taken over the length of his contract, so for eg, we buy a player for 2M with a 4 year contract, that's worked as half a mil per year.... plus wages etc So as long as our various sponsors etc cough up sufficiently and the gates are up, and TV fees etc add up, its Finacially Fair Play... Im sure SR is prudent and knows what he's doing....
sage
How much of the play offs money has been used up on improved contracts? that's the question.
Day
The question that we can't answer, next question please
Smyth_18
What's this got to do with George Thorne?
davenportram
I don't think we are going to sign anybody else now (except Thorne if we get him)
Tombo
I don't think we are going to sign anybody else now (except Thorne if we get him) We're apparently still in the market for a winger and a striker.
Alph
My guess would be the contracts aren't big pay rises but have improved conditions? Promotion bonuses/wage rise and minimum release clauses more up to date with the level the players are at?
CumbrianRam
I'm waiting to see a REAL sanction from FFP before I believe it has any strength.
