Billy Davies's future at Nottingham Forest appears increasingly bleak after it emerged the club's Kuwaiti owner met with Neil Warnock on Sunday.

Davies is under growing pressure at the City Ground amid unrest behind the scenes and a dismal 5-0 defeat at East Midlands rivals Derby County.

Warnock is understood to have held talks with Fawaz Al-Hasawi and though the exact role is uncertain it places Davies's position under threat.

The 65-year-old has been out of work since his dismissal at Leeds United in April 2013 but could be persuaded to succeed Davies, with the offer of a huge promotion bonus as an incentive.

Forest have dropped out of the Championship play-off positions after an alarming run of seven league games without a win and Davies's relationship with Al-Hasawi has disintegrated.

Warnicks a good manager that given the finances Forest do have he would probably get them promoted. Got a much better record than Billy Davies.

Unfortunately he's a horrible man - not quite as much as Billy but he's certainly up there!
