Players who have played for both Derby County and Manchester City

Hello all, I've got an important question I am struggling to find the answer to.

I need to know as many players as possible that have played for both Derby County and Manchester City.

I ask because a good friend of mine is getting married and she wants to use footballers as table names.

She is a massive Man City fan but her husband to be is a Rams fan, so to be equal on the day they want to use names of players who have played for both clubs.

So far google has been a bit of help with:

Peter Doherty (46 cup final scorer)

Francis Lee

Georgi Kinkladze (probably will be top table name:-)

And the mighty Lee Croft.

They are Struggling for any others so I though I'd ask you bunch of well informed people.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Cheers

England Ram

  • We've both had a player called Michael Johnson, if they could use that?

  • Tom Glick?

Paul Simpson? Paulo Wanchope.

Wanchope!

Paulo Wanchope!

We've both had a player called Michael Johnson, if they could use that?

Paul Dickov, Spencer Prior, Tyrone Mears, Jon Macken

Nigel Clough played for City and managed Derby.

Also, my whole missus family are City fans too...  <_<

Paul Ritchie was on loan to us for a bit

Danny Mills come on loan, go injured and they wouldn't take him back.

Danny Mills

Javan Vidal, if you are really desperate. However, a few minutes as a sub for the Rams and NO senior games at all in 3 years on the books at City suggests that this is a table for distant second cousins, disliked colleagues and the other half's ex, at best.

Wanchope, has anyone mentioned him?

Ones not named above (at the time I started digging)...

Bill Eadie played over 200 times for Man City - he was reported to have played for Derby County but I suspect that was wartime only (1914-1918)

Horace Barnes played 153 times for Derby and 218 times for Man City

Both teams had players called Tommy Johnson (not the same player though)

Peter Doherty played 133 times for Man City and was in Derby County's cup-winning side (and scored).

Paddy Fagan played 165 times for Man City and 24 times for Derby

Dave Watson played 146 games for Man City and 34 times for Derby

Phil Boyer didn't get into Derby's first team but played 20 times for Man City

I'm still going through old Derby records - will post more when I have them.

Lee Bradbury played 40 times for Man City and 7 times for Derby

Frank Buckley played 11 times for Man City and 92 times for Derby

John Burridge played 4 times for Man City and 6 times for Derby

Steve Carter played a couple of games for Man City and 33 times for Derby.

Trevor Christie (legend!!) played for both clubs (no idea how many appearances)

Arthur Bacon played 8 times for Derby and 5 times for Man City. I like bacon.

Fred Bevan played 8 times for Man City and 51 times for Derby

Albert Fairclough played 5 times for Man City and 39 times for Derby

Archie Ferguson played 49 times for Derby and twice for Man City

Paul Futcher played 37 times for Man City and 35 times for Derby

Mark Lillis played 39 times for Man City and 15 ties for Derby

Having a break now - more later.

Def Mark Lillis. Good call Eddie.

I think Ashley Ward was at Citeh but not 100% on that.

Javan Vidal. Was that his name?

Oh someone has already mentioned him
