And if Mr. Rush & McClaren are at the advanced stage of talking about transfers, surely he should be able to take over for Tuesday night? In fact this is how most signings will be made now, the head coach will have players brought for him by the director of football, very interesting times ahead, if we get the right combination it could help us no end!! I'm glad you're optimistic about the DOF. In my opinion, the manager is the one who runs things on the pitch and therefore should be the one who sanctions transfers for players to fit into his game plan. If it goes according to plan then we will have a good system that is used throughout European football with good results but if the pair don't get along it could be a potential car crash. Maybe we were actually goign to sign two this guy and Keane because neither of Keogh and Buxton were deemed good enough by Clough, and rush is just finalising deals already in motion.
