Getting rid of players on contracts won't be easy, especially if they are on big wages. They will want paying off.

Since when have Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich, Wigan, Bolton, Charlton, Portsmouth been cool?!

I do love some people's attempts to give Mel leeway by saying the fans were all on board.  The fans were not told this was completely unsustainable, that administration was laying in waiting and we had ripped through ffp. In fact, Mel kept on emphasising pretty much the opposite. Even a cursory glance at the reaction to administration from those who attended the now infamous meeting would tell us all we need to know about what was told to us about the situation. It's about as pathetic an excuse as it gets and I personally don't have empathy for Mel Morris. He ran the club completely irresponsibly, has ran away now it's all gone south and left the club to pick up the mess. 

Isn’t it the case that we received a 100k fine *and* were required to restate the accounts and P&S calculations for prior years, and it’s on the basis of these new accounts/P&S that this new points deduction is being applied?

They did far worse to Luton remember.

Facts - We got deducted 12 points because we broke the rules set out about administration....we were put into administration after years of terrible business management.

Might, but because MM had financially mismanaged the club, Derby couldn't find a buyer quickly enough and there was no leeway then to continue. His shenanigans are why the club is where it is, the only one that has gone into administration. Does anyone truly believe that this is down to covid on its own?

I can see AN issue, but maybe not the one you see.
In Blackpool's case, one of the issues was that the EFL didn't know their own rules on retrospective application of the Owners & Directors Test, and falsely claimed that they couldn't be applied in the case of a rape conviction. It was simple incompetence, and I believe that the Head of Governance then may be the same guy who is advising Parry now. I wouldn't have much faith in his ability, but I don't think there is anything sinister about it. The issue for me is that they aren't up to the regulatory job, and don't fancy doing it anyway.

Read the Nixon snippet, sensationalist headline, but when you read it it’s all about if we don’t get a buyer we will have to prove we have funds to see the season out or we will remain in the embargo we’re in, which means we probably won’t be able to re-sign Jagielka and Baldock given Bielik and Kazim will be fully fit by then. To be honest, a fair and reasonable position from the EFL.
 
IF we get to January without a buyer then we know we will be in the absolute poo and probably have to sell players. Therefore the article says nothing new!! 
 
And those thinking Lawrence is on £65k per week calm yourselves down. No way is he on that, £25-£30k tops! Mitrovic is regarded as biggest earner in champ normally and he’s on about £65k per week, maybe slightly more, that was when Fulham were promoted to the premier league and he signed for £25m!! No way would Derby have given Lawrence that sort of contract and if they had do you not think it would’ve been mentioned before now.

There only seven months til end of season... so works out (if true)  at just shy of £24 million  Two million a month would seem very toppy to me.. given we have six players capped at £4,500 per month and only a squad of 23 players, including Ebosele, Watson, Stretton  and Williams who won't be on much either. It's not as if most of the others are superstars either apart from Mr Rooney himself of course and his wages are paid by 32red.
