and at least in 07/08 we were getting torn apart by quality opposition, the teams we are playing in this league are genuinely terrible.

this is the weakest league one for years thats the most concerning thing.

It's just draining isn't it, Clowes needs to act before this season fades into nothing. He didn't hestitate to get rid of Roseiner. Why Warne? It was a clear mistake getting him.

The number of good characters in the dressing room has increased dramatically. They can't play football together very well, but in training they have a right laugh with each other.

With 3 yrs on their contracts it's probably a million quid pay off.  We'll have to wait till next year unless we stick them on gardening leave and force the issue by continuing to pay them on a monthly basis and bring in someone else.
The most turgid, insipid dross I've watched in 40 years bar the last 10 games of 07/08 where they clearly couldn't give a s***.
The amount of injuries we're now getting is insane as well.  What the hell are they doing in training, assault courses

Well, what a crap half. But that was to be expected. Only one team is trying to play football, and once again it is not us. We are not going anywhere with Warne in charge. It is the worst football I have ever seen. Zero entertainment. The football is a reminder of the « kick and rush » era, a style that is past it. I have tried to be patient, but week after week we are being served the same old crap. I fear Clowes has dropped a clanger giving Warne a 4 year deal. I would not be annoyed if we tried to play football, helas, we never do.

I can think of other managers who have a similar level of stubbornness regarding formations and how to play the game....

He was CEO at the club during its most mismanaged period in its history. I don’t care if he did Mel’s donkey work he still did it which resulted in huge penalties.

I'm a bit worried that Warne said Bolton was his favourite performance this season.   I mean WTF???  I think we're losing tomorrow.  Need a much better start than the last game.

Well for all our sakes I hope everyone at the club is working hard to get us to where we want to be, and as a supporter our job should be to encourage this in a positive manner and not just be negative about the past, but that’s just my opinion.🙂

Have you ever watched a horse race, it’s not necessarily the horse that jumps the first fence that wins the race.

He’s the financial whizz who do you think came up with the ways to prepare the books? Whilst Mel might have said how can we make more of a go of FFP, it will likely have been the accountancy expert - Pearce - who knew how to execute the plans. He was happy to sit at forums and tell us all everything was hunky dory, very like a politician.
If he felt that uncomfortable with the financial problems and the non-payment of HMRC he could have picked up his ethics and quit?

have you lot seen the division this year? It is completely pants summed up by Stevenage topping it & two of the relegated teams having big points deductions

It won’t be an easier year to challenge that top 2 and it’s pretty poor we are not looking like putting up a fight to do so

i don’t think that’s high expectations I think it should be a basic requirement with a club like Derby at this level. Look at the clubs in the current top 10 position

Whataboutism isn't really making the point you think it is here... When a company goes into administration, the reality is that the CEO doesn't ordinarily get the luxury of retaining their position. The captain usually has to go down with the ship. It's not about whether he stood up to Mel, it's why in this case, when the club is having a complete overhaul, the CEO and former CFO who presided over one of the most dodgy financial periods in the club's history, has kept his job when that defies the usual process?
I've wondered whether Clowes retaining him could simply be due to the fact he knows where the skeletons are, and that knowledge may still be needed to properly rectify the issues and stabilise the club short-term... Plus, all the talk of Pearce really trying to keep the club going during admin- he was probably trying to save his job and retain a wage, that was likely entirely borne out of self interest, rather than a genuine compassion for the club and its fans.
I just find it strange that with little to no information or context we have on the matter, so many are backing him at this point, even though he was literally Mel's right-hand man...

Exactly even if you make it up now in the current system you have a huge fight to stay there

luton are the prime example, they want to do the sensible thing but chances are they are not even going to put up a fight to stay in the premier league and before you know it they’ll be back mid table championship again

you either have to have an extremely intilligent ownership model ahead of its time or bucket loads of cash to even attempt to stay at that level now

I do.  Nobody in this league is fit too tickle our scrotum.  Maybe Portsmouth on a Saturday night.  They'll get their chance this Saturday.
If the manager bought into this a bit more, rather than thinking we should start each match like a snail on ketamine and hope for a set piece goal to get the ball rolling, we could well do so as this divison is uber pants.

That's the million dollar question. No one is really sure. All we know is that he's been here for 10 years. He was CFO when Sam Rush was sacked for alleged financial irregularities. As CFO either he was negligent in policing what was going on, or he was complicit in what was going on. Yet he stayed in post. He was CFO/CEO throughout the MM FFP-busting glory years and eventual admin. Again he was either negligent or complicit. Yet he is still here
At the forum he was asked outright whether he thinks he could have personally done anything differently to avoid what happened with FFP/Admin and he changed the subject.
So we don't know that he did anything wrong, it's just a general feeling of something not adding up - and the fact that when questioned at a public forum he refused to address it doesn't help allay anyone's fears
It's not a witch hunt, or a vendetta - just fans who want what's best for the club. Administration was such an emotionally draining time, we all want to move forward with a clean slate. And we have that in terms of an owner, a squad and a manager. But the CEO - nope - same guy who let it all go to s**t last time. Only fair that we question that
