Thought Morrison was back with us today?

That is a relief. I stand corrected on that sorry. I was thinking there was no way he was going play Friday if was still on international duty.

With both Joz and Morrison on international duty and doubtful for Friday night it really does make our available sqaud look thin.

I thought the idea of an international was to not disadvantage teams who have international players.
Jamaica are away to Costa Rica at 2am Thursday morning.
So with Jozwiak unlikely to feature and Ravel Morrison even less likely to be available then I believe we are being severely compromised by this Friday night kick off.
Further punishing us with our waifer thin sqaud.

not sure our physio's would?. Don't think they'd ever get a day off?
Hopefully either him, Baldock or CZR would be fit at anyone time if we had all three?

I'd love it if we could get Daniel Sturridge, I think he could be a difference maker for us. Other than that I would be tempted to invite a couple of free agents (fowards)% to train with us if we had any hope of getting out of this embargo.

I was hoping that we would get at least one new face in but it doesn't look like it will be happening...

Would assume if we freed up a spot we would get a striker in
Either a centre foward or wide player surely?

Surely if he doesn’t find a club today then we’re heading towards a ‘release’/pay off so that at least we can sign another out of contract player (and/or convert Baldock or Jagielka to a season long deal rather than just Jan)
I think if we was to do that we would do it in January. I'd like to keep Jagielka and Baldock for the rest of the season.
-
I think Marshall is a solid goal keeper at this level, the main push for me to try and move him on is to free up another slot for another foward.

Transfers elsewhere look to be doing us a favour. Willock blocks Knight to Newcastle, James reduces chances of Sibley to Leeds and Taglaficio should end West Hams interest in Buchanan. Lawrence, Shinnie or Byrne most likely to leave last minute if anyone (not including Marshall).
I don't think we can afford to loose Lawrence, Shinnie or Bryne. Hopefully Marshall moves on freeing up a spot for another attacking option to come in though.

So tomorrow whilst other clubs are making signings on deadline day poor Rooney will be sat with his hands tied, we have a decent core of 12/13 players but we definitely need an extra 2/3 at least to help with injuries etc. We’ve seen after 5 games how costly not being able to finish games of have been, probably already 3 points less than we should be on! Players like Patrick Roberts can leave for free tomorrow hed be a perfect addition and we can’t even sign him! Rooney has done a great job keeping fans on side otherwise it could of been a very messy few weeks If we’d lost a few! It’s a shame it’s come to this but the EFL will be loving every minute
I agree. I think our starting 11 is decent and can give most teams a game but we have no options or game changers off the bench or to cover for injuries. We still desperately need another 2 or 3 and players like Patrick Roberts are available if the EFL will ease the embargo they have set on us.

20 goals a season foward? I doubt be will find one of those. I do think we need to find someone who could get us 12-15 goals goals though.
-
We certainly are short of numbers going foward so if the embargo restrictions are relaxed he could be a welcome addition.
-
Whatever the sell on fee ends up being hopefully it will be a welcome addition to the clubs future accounts.

What wrong-doing are you accepting punishment for btw?
You have a good point. I'm just sick of this and want to move on. I think we need an outcome in order for Mel to able to sell the club and to bring some real investment in. If a 6 point hit can facilitate that then would that be in the clubs long term interest?
-
If we could beat Forest and have any restrictions removed I'd take a 6 point hit and try to move on. 9 points is just ridiculous though !
-
9 points is ludicrous and unjust. It sounds like a sure way to try an relegate us.
Surley a 3 or a 6 point (inline with Sheffield Wednesday's deduction) is more reasonable?

I thought I'd check the thread for any updates but I see that none of us are any more of the wiser?

Be interesting to see how Borkovic does. Does he normally play as a CF or a wide man? I have never seen him play

If we go two up top we could play Lawrence with Baldock with Morrison behind them.
