I think bringing on CKR and Shinnie would certainly help bring the physicality we need, but do we want to risk them tonight?
-
I think tonights team and performance just highlights the strength and depth of our sqaud.
We desperately need another 3 or 4 experienced players in. Tonight we are being out muscled especially in the middle of the park.

I think he had a good solid game overall and made a good account of himself.

The problem is, let's say someone came in with a fair offer for him. Who do we replace him with? We already have a waifer thin sqaud.
Let's get behind him and give him a chance.

It sounds like Wayne would like to loan Mengi, Garner and Delap, along with sign Jagielka and Baldock. That would give us depth at both CB and ST.
While it seems incredibly unlikely, Wayne must have some assurances from Man Utd and the trialists that at least some of that could happen. As we know though, it all comes down to Mel sorting out the embargo with the EFL and getting it lifted.
Based on that, it’s likely we miss out on most or all of those.
I would definitely be happy if we could bring in Mengi, Garner and Delap.
I would like to sign Jagielka but I think Mengi is needed more than him due to his pace. Otherwise if you just had any two of Davies, Stearman and Jagielka you don't don't have much pace there and can be left vulnerable.
I probably wouldn't bother with Baldock if we could get Delap, however I do think as we need another CF so he would be better than no one to provide cover and give CKR the occasional rest.

Our captain in all but name. I'm over the moon to see him sign up and play again today.

Welcome Ravel !
If he can be anywhere near his best we will have some player. His creativity and quality on the ball could be the difference if he stays focused.

Hasn't Morrison deleted all signs of Derby county from his social media today?
I suspect that particular train had left the station.
Would really love a good number 9 to come in tho..(preferably one who is already a self made millionaire with no need of a substantial monthly wage and with an unhealthy obsession with playing for Derby county)
You might be right about that, but I try not too much into these things around who players follow on Twitter ect. I suppose time will tell if any deal can be made.
As for that good number 9 who is self made millionaire and wants to play for us that might be harder to find?

I don't want to predict anything before September to see about the transfer situation etc. assuming we don't bring in anyone else in the cf position and defensively I'm struggling to see beyond relegation. There just aren't enough goals in the team so they'll be a lot of pressure on the defence and without Clarke we'll be weaker in that department as well.
I agree. We need another goal scorer as we do lack goals, a creative spark (this could be Morrison) and ideally another CB too.

I’ll sign for 234k a year. Wages at the top of the game have distorted our opinion about what is a fair wage. I understand it’s market forces, short career etc, but FFS it’s decent money for kicking a football about 1-2 twice a week.
I agree. I'm sure you will be able feed yourself and your family quite comfortably on 234 k a year.

Who is going to start alongside Davies then?
I presume it will normally it two of either Davies, Forsyth and Stearman playing CB and occasionally all three.
Davies and Forsyth on Saturday I'd pick (if match fit).
-
At least we have two established centre backs, I presume it will be because they are the only two who would accept the 4.5k a week wage. I'm pleased Curtis is one of them.
I'd like to find a way to sign Morrison to over the next couple of weeks too.
-
The main priority ahead of tomorrow's game surely has to be CB's? I would like a few other additions (such as Morrison and another forward) but they aren't as urgent.
-
I'm hoping we can sign/register a CB or two in time for tomorrow's game. Would Curtis Davies sign a "blank contract" to help the team out? Who knows. Hopefully we can get this mess resolved.

We're 48 hours away from asking the trialist to pay a £30 signing on fee and set up a £20 a month direct debit for pitch and ref fees ?
Surley we can at least give them them the national minimum wage? ?

I just want 2 centre backs signed up, the rest aren't urgent!!
I agree. We desperately need a couple of centre backs then the rest can be sorted out before the end of the month.

Curious the wording of the Punjabi Rams thread, "investment" as opposed to "takeover". Pretty concerned at that tbh but I'm sure we'll get more info tomorrow...
The Punjabi Rams have done a better job of communicating with us fans than the club have that is for sure. Let's see what tomorrow brings and what comes out including regarding investment/a take over.

For a start i don't have Twitter and i don't always agree with some comments @Davidmakes but to have a go at him is totally out of order,if what Punjabi Rams have tweeted is correct (and no thought to consider otherwise) @David is as probably as dismayed as the rest. I understand fans wanting answers and throw their frustrations at someone but @Davidis not that man.
I agree. This isn't David's mess and people shouldn't take the frustration out on him.
I appreciate @David and the Punjabi Rams going for us fans and sharing what they can, when they can.

So we pretty much have just under 37 hours before the deadline (12pm Fri) to register players for Saturday - lets hope we can get the EFL talks resolved in that time to at least get a few in for Saturday
Surely we have the agreements lined up with the players already so just a case of the registration being approved
You would hope so, but I'm not that confident any more.
The EFL at it again? Blocking signings?
