Yep I make you right , the biggest problem now is the fear instilled in vast numbers of people in this country and the fact that the fear tap is being kept on despite the gains in vaccines, treatment ,data and understanding of the virus , the other day a convertible car drove past me with the roof down and a driver wearing a mask ffs??‍♂️,
the rise in ocd over the last 10 years is an epidemic and so so damaging for sufferers with inhibited  lives full of anxiety and fear , fear of germs , fear of touching anything , fear of each other , constant hand washing and cleansing not at sensible levels but obsessive need to stay safe ,,,now this , you can see it in children all around you if you care to look and I really fear for the future ,their lives and the lives of their children ,
those with overhyped fear in them now regards this virus will dismiss the above as covid denial as usual but ffs where is the balance , where is the long term view ,
ive said before there is only one thing worse than the fear of dying,,,,, the fear or living ,,,,,,that’s where w are headed ,a world where people are scared stiff and unable to live normal happy lives , paralysed by fear of everything and everyone

I was waved in by the car park marshal, having already seen the plethora of one way arrows/exit only signs etc, and promptly reversed into the first parking bay, immediately adjacent to the entrance to my rows of parking bays.
I then sat and waited for Muckerette to go in and have her jab.  I was there a good ten minutes, and witnessed 7... count them... SEVEN... drivers attempt to go out the wrong way.  And that was from my pair of rows only!
The marshal had to stop incoming traffic, then point the drivers out from the rows (the wrong way), then left turn away from the entrance/incoming traffic, so they could get back on track and re-join the one way system, all whilst waving his arm in a very large scale anti-clockwise rotation, ending with a high, long point towards the far side of the car park/Arena!
Personally, I'd have got "Jobsworth Syndrome", denied them any egress through the access point, made them do a multi-point turn within the car park itself, whilst videoing them, and downloading to YouTube!  ?

I disagree. Cases, hospitalizations and deaths were all falling in late November and it looked as if we were through the worst of it. Then came the B117 Kent/UK variant, much more transmissible and so it spread quickly and too hold. It was unexpected. So it became a race between the vaccination campaign and the spread of the new variant. The government and its scientists took very bold decisions, on the balance of risk, such as only giving one dose to vaccinate more people (Faucci in the US and the EU scientists were very disparaging) and strictly vaccinating the most vulnerable in order, despite the calls in the media and political opponents to vaccinate teachers etc first.
As you'd expect in an unprecedented situation, our politicians have got some things wrong but they've got a lot right. And these were brilliant calls in the teeth of fierce opposition, the government working hand in hand with the experts. The difference between then and now is the race to vaccinate before the virus spread was won. The Indian variant simply cannot cause the mayhem the B117 variant did because everyone vulnerable has been offered the vaccine and almost all of those have had it. It's possible if it proves really bad that cases and hospitalizations may go up a bit, but not to any kind of level that jeopardizes healthcare. We're at the stage when the thing is endemic and we will just have to live with it as a regular disease like everything else, coming back a little towards winter as seasonal respiratory viruses do.

I received a message today. I've got mine on the 19th of May and the 9th of June. They'll be giving me the Pfizer.
ps I'll be 58 this year, so you can see how far behind we are over here.

I think you give people too much credit, it might be obvious to you but im sure some people must be capable of getting lost in their own back garden. With the diminishing amount of common sense in our population i could see it being utter carnage without these hero car park marshalls pointing them in the right direction.

I have two reasons for going to watch Derby, firstly im a Derby fan but secondly its the time i get to spend with my Dad, hes been making noises about not renewing anyway, he doesnt like whats involved with getting away as its so busy, so its crossed my mind that ill take him to some non league games just to spend that time and have a beer after like we used to. I guess id do that if the club folded, i cant imagine just switching to another club, i guess that might build up over time
I think you are right there would be a Derby County of some description, no doubt would be a wild ride watching them from non league, i am quite envious of clubs like afc wimbledon, when they got in to the league it must have been such a fantastic moment for their fans.

My nephew played for Cleethorpes town, went to Wembley to watch them in the 2017 FA vase final against South Shields with Julio Arca playing for them. If Derby wasn’t playing on the Saturday I would go and watch them home or away with the Clee ultras, proper supporters. ( they really are a thing)

Say what you want about how we've handled the pandemic overall, but our vaccination program has been superbly organised.
Couldn't walk 5 steps without a marshall pointing me in the right direction and I was in and out in a flash.

as do I, while ultimately its not worked and he has to take responsibility for that,  I don't believe he has ever made a decision that he didn't think were in the best interests of the club.
this is my biggest concern right now that his hand is forced and we end up with a 3 amigos situation,  who clearly made decisions the were in their own interests,  not the clubs.

There is certainly plenty of options. A guy i worked with was a die hard forest fan but he moved to Northwich in Cheshire and started going to watch them and really got into it, it didnt stop him being a forest fan, i dont think it means you are being 'unfaithful' if thats the right word lol.
I am actually considering going to watch Cleethorpes Town when they play around here, if i dont get a season ticket again, they will have a few fixtures that would be reasonably local to us round here, for no other reason than i used to work with their current manager so i look out for their results anyway.

AFC Wimbledon’s rise was fantastic - but are they the same club which won that FA Cup etc?  It doesn’t REALLY matter - or does it? Hard to say!
