Didn’t get promoted. Didn’t make a profit. Sold the club. Only difference between them and Morris who also hired McClaren is he didn’t sell the club. Was trying to sell it but bad timing doing that in 2019/20..
Agree with you there, we need fresh blood in the club.

Appleby/rush/moxey blandly led the club before.
They were able to show a total lack of ambition for the club.
There footballing links did not work out fantastically before, Derby were not known as the invincibles (reference one of Arsenal's former great teams) under their tenure.
Do you think we need a complete break from people who have been connected to the club before.

? spot on
maybe someone could draw up a sliding scale or chart that identifies what contributes being a Super Fan, simply a fan, 3/4 fan, 1/2 fan etc.
I’m guessing a Super fan would be someone who goes to ALL home and away matches, drinks 20 pints and spends 90 minutes facing the opposing fans and chanting about Collymore and Billy Sharp.
I can’t afford to attend many away matches but I am a season ticket holder so I’ll happily sit in the 1/4 fan category.
Same here.

I can only go back as far as the early Brian Clough years and my dad was never interested in football but now my son and grandson come to the games with me, so long after I’ve gone maybe he will be talking about grandad saw Derby when they were champions of England twice.
I can only go back to 1968 and my son and grandson also come with me now.

Maybe in time your opinion might change, because your opinion isn't based on solid foundation.
Did'nt say it was based on solid foundation.

Well that’s the first question answered. Is Rooney up for the rebuild in league 1? Absolutely he is and is already planning for it. Biggest positive this week. Club needs certainty and stability, no one coming in will know the club like him or know what we have. Hopefully he can convince the likes of Bird Knight etc to stay as well, he’s really making a statement by his actions, if anyone can say he’s bigger than the club he certainly can, yet he doesn’t, he shows great humility and outstanding leadership in a critical period in this club’s history
We need the ownership situation sorting and then he can have the chance to manage without his hands tied behind his back, then we can really judge Rooney the football coach. Get a new owner and we can actually start being optimistic about the future again.
Agree, if anyone can convince the good young players to stop it is Rooney. They can learn such a lot from a great player that he was.

Pity you can't afford to buy us then. Thought maclarens son was a scout.
Like most companies, not what you know, but who you know when jobs are going.

Yes. I would've hired a proper scouting and recruitment team, not my stepson.

There's intelligent investing and there's Blackman-Butterfield investing, he didn't invest in the correct scouting/football managers
If we were millionares could we have done any better though.

None of us are buddy but your original post was sort of implying that we, as fans, should have been calling foul when Mel was splashing the cash.
I maybe a cynic but i am also an optamist, we will get through this and come back stronger.

Ah, so despite your cynicism, you were just the same as the rest of us and didn’t see sufficient reason to call heads?

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Being a self confessed cynic and not taking statements as fact, were you calling for heads to roll at the time then?

The comparison (for me) is that Mel Morris is/was as good for Derby County FC as Sarah Millican is as good for comedy, ie, not very good at all. ?
I must have a warped sense of humour, i find her quite funny at times?
