For the most part, the Trotters fans who have posted on here this season have been sound dudes. Our 'rivalry' goes back to the first ever league match day in 1888, when we played each other and you raced into a 3-0 lead before we pegged you back and eventually ran out 6-3 winners. I'm definitely rooting for Bolton in the playoffs.

Incidentally, my wife's great-great uncle played in that 3-6 game (Walter Raulstone).

Walter Roulstone (1866–1953) was an English footballer who played for Derby County.[2]

William Roulstone was signed in 1886 by Sawley Rangers F.C. Very little is known about Sawley Rangers except they were founder members of the Derbyshire Football Association. Albert Williamson was only at Sawley Rangers for one season, 1886–87. Albert Williamson was on Derby County's books for the one season prior to the start of the Football League, 1887–88.[2][3][4]

Walter Roulstone made his League debut on 8 September 1888, playing at wing–half, at Pike's Lane, the then home of Bolton Wanderers. Derby County defeated the home team 6–3. Walter Roulstone appeared in 21 of the 22 League matches played by Derby County in season 1888–89. As a wing-half (20 appearances) he played in a midfield that achieved big (three–League–goals–or–more) wins on three separate occasions.[3]

He was the first player to make 100 league appearances with Derby County. His brother Frank was also a footballer. Although Derby County had had a poor season (1888–89), Roulstone was retained to play alongside the more experienced professionals being brought in during the close season in 1889. Roulstone stayed with Derby County for seven seasons leaving in 1894. He played 118 games becoming the First Derby County player to play 100 games for the club. He went to local non-league club Heanor Town in 1895.[5]

Would I have been the only poster teasing B4 that we never caught Pompey if he was around?

Even though I knew he had some difficulties, I used to enjoy a little ribbing at expense of his optimism, however reading this, it makes me sound like a bully! I don't think there's a regular poster/reader here who didn't love B4's valuation of Rams players! 😄

My take on B4 as a poster, He is NEVER WRONG, If we pointed out his mistakes he'd come back with an answer, Not the right answer but an answer, We'd correct him, But No...he aint having it still more answers, It got to the stage where me/some would just give in, His enthusiasm was infectious, His positivity was overpowering, His loyalty was honourable, He never got upset with posters...he is one of a kind.

Scraves, Flanges, The food down his shirts, The pain in his foot, Losing his job at the Cinema...he just kept going, Even someone like me felt an affection for him...God bless him 😉

Some tittle tattle on Twitter seems to be suggesting that we bought the trophy ourselves and that it’s not ‘official’ (and thus we are ‘tin pot’).  Anybody shed any light on that?  Obviously, the tin pot comments are purely jealousy and I’m not bothered either way, was just wondering?

Having scrolled through Instagram this afternoon/evening, seeing the pictures of Dad’s on the pitch with their sons and daughters, players being paraded around on fans shoulders, I don’t know.

They are pictures that won’t just live in digital format on phones, printed off, displayed around the house, memories that will last a lifetime.

I've been sent a picture of my 14 year old Grandson with Eiran Cashin on the pitch, Now that's one to treasure 😊

  5. Well today is done, Not quite the cantor I thought but a win is a win, Promotion is what it's all about and it was done, There'll be a cull in the summer...but that's another thread.

Not quite wasted but enough to get home, Telegraph was RAMmed and rightly so.

My 1 disappointment was with the North Stand, All the old and young uns...ran onto the pitch, My you just couldn't hold your excitement could ya 😁

Well done all...over and out 😊

Personal tax allowance is frozen until 2028 😩

I was alway very careful to provide for my old age, it was the tax efficient thing to do, I never factored in that they would freeze the personal tax allowance.

The Government giveth with one hand and taketh with the other 🙄

In todays world we have to be a little cute on how to get a deal, Save a couple of quid and enjoy our retirement, It's the younger ones that will be seeing the chickens coming home to roost and I wish them well 👍

  7. Those up in the upper stands will see soon enough as to whether they'll be an invasion, As fans will start to congregate at the bottom of the lower stands, My guess is there will be a larger contingent of stewards to "try" and stop any incursion of the pitch.

The South Stand and East Stand Lower will be where the "tidal wave" will come from...if at all

If promoted lets all enjoy the day...dispersal order/pitch invasion or not 😊

  8. Another over the top reaction from those who can control the public, Ones persons disorder is another persons party, I think we'll need VAR here to decide.

Are fans going to celebrate if DCFC are promoted...of course they are, Do people celebrate the New Year...of course they do, Is there any dispersal orders on New Years day?...football support has changed over the years, The police attitude to supporters hasn't.

Come Sunday afternoon if someone is attacked in Derby town centre...there'll not be 1 old bill to be seen 🙄

  9. An old friend who lived on Meadow Lane Chadd was dating BCs Daughter(Elizabeth)she was a bit of a rebel in them days, Dad wasn't impressed as there was a big age difference.

BC and my mate ended up having fisticuffs on my mates front garden, The story hit the News of the World, He made a few bob, We weren't to impressed with him selling the story...he soon bailed from Chadd...never to be seen again by us 🤷‍♂️

Is there an obvious place I should be aiming for to watch the match on Saturday? Sadly have no tickets. Don’t really spend that much time in Derby, only to occasionally watch the super Rams. Seen the Bess of Hardwick and the White Horse mentioned as being good?

    Telegraph on Traffic St 👍😊
