I thought it was his best all-round performance for DCFC since 2020. His defensive work was faultless and he was a threat with the ball.

The biggest compliment I would give Sibley today was he actually looked like a wing back. His positioning understandably is still not perfect, but his tackling was so much better, the rashness just not there and the tackle to break up their breakaway was brilliant.
He even took a defenders pro booking lol.
Hopefully he is back in midfield at some stage but he looked the part today.

Sorry to be contrary. I thought he was far from everywhere. But he stuck that volley sweet as a nut, didn’t try to hit it too hard and forced a good save. Another day it was goal of the season  

Bobble hats and baker boys off to PW today. We were up against modest oppo and on a good slick pitch, so we see less of the long stuff and more moving the ball quickly forwards on the floor. Didnt always work but when it did we played some delightful stuff. And when it didn’t they didn’t have it in their locker to punish us. Nice to see Sibley enjoying the acres he was given and showing what a good football brain he has. Just loved the second goal. Best we’ve scored since the Ravel Morrison team wonder goal last year. Wish we could see Bird more dominant in that sort of game. Still don’t feel he and CH are finding space as they should

I suspect a move - judging by his body language and the way he waved to the South Stand at the end if the match. I hope I’m wrong, because he had a massive impact on the match.

‘I will send a video to the players on Christmas morning. I will do a Christmas run with a hat on, or something crazy’. I wonder if he is as annoying in real life as he is when being spoon fed on camera.
Lets hope sometime soon the team will do the talking for him.

Slightly struggling to understand why listening to PW’s chirpy description of his unremarkable Xmas routine is worthy of so many minutes 

The ref is asked to look at it again I think only if VAR think there may be a clear and obvious error. 
In this case they thought there was not.  
 
The fact that there are so many neutrals on either side of this debate sort of proves VAR was right. And sort of proves that those who say it obviously was/was not a pen don’t really get the problem  
The problem is that there is no clear cut answer to the question:  if the keeper steps into the line of the attacker without playing the ball, how long does the keeper need to ‘stand still’ for it not to be obstruction? 
 
I think the ref probably got it right but you’d need to see it looking down the line of the attacker’s run before you could be sure, and even then you need to consider the attacker’s speed. He was in this case travelling fast, which perhaps was why the ref had no doubt.
