Goal from hourihane’s corner. Might have gone straight in. Didzy claiming it. Mostly Derby so far. Can we score a hatful and repair GD ?

I think it suits Sibley better than Barks, who has absolutely no defensive competence whatsoever. Whereas at least Sibley has developed a bit during his LWB stint.
Id actually prefer to see Barks up top instead of Collins.

Warne touched on this in his post match interview after the FGR game. I think he said he was just not selected. I got sidetracked as to exactly what he said because he blurted out a sentence something along the lines of "I like Rooney but his dad is creepy."
It was a bizarre sentence to come out with. I couldn't decide whether he was joking or serious. In fact I'm gonna go and watch the interview again to try and work it out. The interview is on the club website.
Edit: I may have misheard the sentence and it he actually apparently says "...it sounds a bit creepy." and not "..his dad is creepy."
I may have to go and have a hearing test.🤦

Slight being the operative word
It’s hard to know how much he should now change things to find a way to play better. As recent team selection shows -bar Wildsmith ?and Didzy - players can’t even be sure if they’ll start, let alone where they’ll play. Warne might say this is good because they are constantly playing for their places. Problem is it affects their mental prep for games not least because they don’t know who plays alongside them.
First change he makes from Friday should be to move Sibley right up the pitch. Second, start Bird. As you say, apart from that maybe he limits changes to obvious cases of fatigue (NML maybe, who will be targeted after Friday - straight switch for Barks?). Finally, keep Didzy as captain. Don’t think Bird squawks loudly enough

Ugly but effective, a term used to describe me on more than one occasion.
Positives were Roberts looking composed at the back and positive going forwards. I think left of a back 3 is his best position.
Chester getting minutes and showing he's still class, even if his legs are shot.
Collins looks much better in a 3, but still ends up on the ball out wide too often and can't cross for sausage.
Didzy makes watching Derby fun.
Negatives? My neck hurts.

Didzy on form is probably our MVP no matter where we play him. The question is where he’s most most valuable. The outstanding moment of football in the game yesterday was his divine through ball to Collins (the chance duly fluffed). And he plays passes of that quality frequently. He’s had a few poor games recently partly I guess because up top he is heavily marked, frequently isolated and because we don’t deliver the ball to him well on the ground, where he wants it. We create opportunities in the air from ‘wide spaces’ but Didzy is not the strongest in the air (he actually doesn’t jump that well), and despite his height and physicality Collins rarely gets on the end of a cross meaning all the good work from eg NML putting crosses in culminates in towering headers from Knight who momentarily looks like he is playing for the Under 11s.
We have played several thousand minutes of football this season and I can’t recall once Didzy sitting deep and eg Sibley and Barks and NML playing ahead of him to receive his defence splitting passes. I’m not saying it’ll work. I’m saying we should have tried it as a way to get this squad playing better and to give us a better chance against the strong teams (whom we need to beat to go up and where we do not have a good record )

Imo he has been that good and has only slipped recently because of mistakes from the defense

Getting down to the back end of the season so think it’s ok to start considering this.
Hard to look past Wildsmith for me, with McGoldrick and Forsyth not far behind.
Cashin for YPOTS

Yep can’t really play White with Hourihane, or Sibley (if you’re playing Sibley in midfield).
Hourihane offers more defensively and offensively for me, but White should have been bought on for Hourihane more in the latter stages of games, to keep Hourihane’s fitness at a better level.

Don't get me wrong, a win is a win but the style of play was shocking. Obviously playing to orders but awful high ball...... Don't like it one bit.

Yes so the problem is you can’t play White and Hourihane (wrong mix). And Warne picks the latter who looks pretty on the ball and pretty uninterested off it

I think he just might have plenty of poise, balance, silky skills, vision, that sort of thing. But Mr Warne is determined to keep it under wraps

Would you say the same of mount, tomori and Wilson ? All given lots of game time, came on fast and it was win win. We should have been wringing the talent out of White since January, he’s at the stage where experience will quickly fill his sails. Instead we’ve seen Smith in the doldrums, and Knight becalmed by playing alongside senior players who are taking extra rum rations

Could be highly relevant to us. If on 7may at high noon Wendies are out of reach of automatic promotion but safely in the top 6, our match against them will be easier

Following the success at FGR, Warne has the players in for some light training ahead of the MK Franchise game.

Credit to Sibley for doing his very best despite playing out of position. But if you have a player like him who has moments of inspiration (particularly in front of goal) and then long periods of quietude, why on earth would you play him anywhere but up the pitch ?

White, another Dobbin, for us.
Bird should be playing, we looked better when he came on.
Didzy is in the dream team but definitely not playing deep. 4-3-3.
