I dont at all doubt that it's not great but to spread fake news is damaging to both the club and mel.and I'm sorry but I wont just sit and let things be said that are untrue.this club has had more than enough of it's bad headlines over the years and more so this last 18months. Dont get me wrong some of it it's own doing so I'm not excusing that. Now days across the whole world fake news is destroying everything we have built and I'm just sick of it.there used to be a time when the news was the truth now it's all about dividing us instead of bringing us together.

True story. He's carried the team in recent weeks but in all honesty I think we've just run out of puff. Spending the thick end of a year in a bubble, it was never going to end well and finishing that process with series in India and Oz is just madness. It's really horrible seeing all the progress made being undone by a combination of fatigue, poor team selections and Indian umpires. It seems to me that greed has trumped good sense but in fairness, the cricket has helped to ease the tedium of lockdown.

It's about time the ICC started getting serious with countries that provide the standard of pitches that the Indians are producing. Test cricket should be played on pitches that can sustain in general terms cricket over 5 days. This type of cricket is an insult to be called TEST cricket. No problem losing, but please can the likes Kohli and his influence be eradicated at all costs.

I’m not saying they are all batting well. And there will be outliers of course. But Pope’s not playing the wrong line. He’s assuming a ball with significant revs on it is going to turn. As it did last ball and the one before. The consistency is coming from the Indian spinners. The variation is coming mostly from the pitch. Root plays spin as well as anyone - so does Pope in fact - and half the time he’s having to guess what the pitch will do  
the Indian commentators are massively down playing the effect of the pitch and the English are too PC to really say what they think  

if there is an enquiry, it will be an internal Indian enquiry into the pitch for the first test 

I read somewhere that we've got 31 points from the 16 games he has been in charge? If so and if such a form would last a whole season, it would mean 80 points.

I actually don't think we're as far away as some of you might think.
Rooney has shown a lot of promise so far, he has managed to get a group of average individuals who looked clueless and lethargic into a genuine team that fights for 90 minutes every single game. He has a great footballing brain, he seems tactically astute and has the staff around him to get even better.
Rooney has turned this club around in a matter of weeks and has instilled a winning mentality into the group. On paper, we have a mid table team at the minute. But look at the results and manner of performances since Rooney took charge. The unity is there, the grit is there, the work ethic is there. The only thing lacking is just a bit of quality. 
Sort the mess out off the pitch, get contracts sorted out, give him better players to add to this group and I honestly believe we will challenge next season.

Going for it and executing very poorly, is why we are scratching around. 
I believe (possibly naively) that Rooney's greatest achievement could be going for with more astute scouting and less funds than in our wasteful years.

Rooney will be gone before I get back to Pride Park.

Gavaskar predicted Root would be the most effective English spinner on these pitches because he’s the quickest. Batsmen have no time to adjust if the length is good. Patel quicker than Ashwin I think 

I'm available. Confident I can nick one through the slips for at least a single which would be more than Bairstow scored in the match. His shot in the 2nd innings would have shamed a village green player.

Can anyone remember how the fast bowlers were looking forward to taking a hatful of wickets by swinging the pink ball under lights?

I think Root may have got lucky there though as I think pad bat pad so LBW but a tough call for off field umpire 

Big ask of the batsmen: completely change your approach. If they can do it we’ve got a great chance

I don't really care that we've gone with an extra seamer, that decision won't lose us the match. A first innings of 112 will. We could have picked 5 spinners but if we can't put a good total on vs this India side it won't matter a great deal!
