It’s a ridiculous proposal by EFL. Insolvency practitioners are appointed by The Court. They are independent professionals . Too independent for EFL who want to control what they do. Outrageous.

You could borrow the IPL system (NBA "play in" uses this as well)
3rd play 4th - winner goes to final.
    5th play 6th - winner plays loser of 3rd v 4th game
Winner 5/6 Vs loser of 3/4 - the winner goes to the final.
Seems to work quite well, 3rd and 4th get a second chance at the final, 5th or 6th have to win 2 games to get there.
Ultimately though, until the EFL introduce a rule that says teams in rushcliffe borough who play in red are ineligible to take part in the final, the play offs will always be in danger of becoming a farce.

Quite like the formats where the top team in the group going into the play offs gets some sort of advantage in the play offs

I have never lived in Derby or Nottingham and don't know any forest fans at all. I don't have all the "banter" on a daily basis or the dislike thst many of our fan base have.
They do deserve their day at Wembley. They have had a superb season. One to be proud of. Have probably the best young player in the league, some very good loan signings and a manager who I think will go to the top-level.
Does it pain me to say that? No, because I think even the most one eyed of us have to reluctantly say its true.
The league table does not lie.
Forest are on the cusp of the "dream" we chased in the wrong way and are now paying the price for. Will they do it? I think they might.

Nobody knows the exact structure of the deal but I am assuming that CK9 will be buying the share capital of The Derby County Football Club Limited, who will then resume trading as normal.
Just my take on it and have nothing to back it up.

Thanks Kevin, you are right of course and I wish I had your common sense. I was in very real danger of getting completely carried away. I think my emotions are now in check.

Not wanting to diminish any of the contributions,  all of which surely helped,  but really admired Amanda Solloway’s positive energy and drive throughout this. I do wonder though whether she has just a tiny crush on the preferred buyer ?

I believe the HMRC deal is separate and to my knowledge was one of the early boxes ticked off from the administrators point of view. Everyone coming to the table knew what the deal was with them, but I don't believe it was ever disclosed.

There’s only one way to sort this out. In The Ring! We know Jamie is taller but only 8st dripping wet. While Wazza has been moving rapidly up the weight divisions recently. Only fair way is if Jamie gets Prince Nazeem to fight for him.

    It is, by far.
Of course we do, if I was to go on a public forum and declare myself to be Margot Robbie's next husband, I wouldn't expect such comments to go without opposing views.
With how the game is today, I consider the chances of Derby winning the Premier League twice under Wayne Rooney to be the same as myself waiting at the end of the aisle for Margot Robbie.
I could just sit here and agree, pretend that Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy are real, Mbappe will join Derby in next couple of years, although it would create a very strange corner of the internet.
Our "dream" right now, should be an immediate return to the Championship, and looking at the current state of the squad and the job Rooney has to rebuild, that right now should be considered to be a dream. A dream that I will buy into as players start to walk through the door as it's not an impossible dream.

"I think personal he going to bring back glory days that derby had under brain clough is way I think rooney could be new brain clough in the making."
This was the line, not only bring back the glory days that Derby had under Brian Clough, but Rooney could be the new Brian Clough.
With all due respect, I have been on this forum from Day 1 and read all of B4's topics he has ever made, I have a good grasp of what he means and fully aware of his positive outlook and ambitions for this club.
He does not need anyone to spin his comments in an attempt to defend his opinions, he's fully entitled to hold his opinion that Rooney could be the next Brian Clough and we can win the Premier League under him, likewise I am free to call it out as being outrageous.
Which is how I see it.

I think that by saying Rooney can bring back the glory days as seen under Brian Clough is the nuttiest thing I have ever read on this forum.
I can't even begin to explain how outrageous that statement is.
    Sorry B4.
