I should have waited half an hour, as its just dropped through the door. ?

Lets hope the lads can do it on a cold night in Stoke.

Mine just arrived too,  be like a home game for me and hopefully a quick get away from Burslem afterwards!

Should have been out of sight before they’re second , the response to going 1 down was superb, that said I thought they looked a better side than we’ve faced for a while and they troubled us ,

good win and we stay unbeaten , no disrespect to liam but I honestly don’t think we would be doing as well under him , we have decent skilled players and there is so much to be said for decent players who are trained to be the fittest they can be and coached to have top work rate during games for 90 mins and be in a good club environment

Have to agree, improved fitness is playing a big part

  3. 1Wildsmith          6  - Dire kicking in second half which kept putting us on the back foot

    12Smith              6.5

3Forsyth              7.5 - Lucky not to see red but otherwise his usual reliable self

6Cashin               7 - Played well, but slipped a couple of times - longer studs

    33 Davies            6.5

    17Sibley               7.5 - Had a good game

4Hourihane         7.0 - Good header and generally played well

    McGoldrick         6.5 - Missed a good chance

8Bird ?              7.0 - Belter of a goal, but out fought in the last quarter of the game

11Mendez-Laing      7.5 - Good assist and a constant threat down the right, but should have scored a couple

    38Knight              7  - Usual industrious display

7Barkhuizen         7.5 - Well taken goal. Gets into good positions in the penalty area and is our new 'Micklewhite'

Dobbin               6  - Won a couple of headers but not much of note

9Collins              6.5  - Does the ugly stuff, should have scored

    Rooney             6.0 -

  4. Just back, very entertaining game and a good advert for League 1, just could have done without the heart stopping defending in the last 15 minutes. Managed to contain myself in the home end, although when Bird's shot hit the back of the net, I yelled out 'wow, what a goal'. Thankfully everyone around me agreed! My cover was blown when Barks scored but it didn't matter, everyone was pretty friendly.  Really good away day on par with Accrington.  Quite impressed with Cheltenham who gave us a good game and tried to play football. I liked their number 32 (Broom) who played in left midfield and gave Bird a torrid time.

  5. Would have preferred Saturday, but Monday night will seem a breeze after those Friday night trips to Portsmouth and Ipswich. The TV money will come in handy and I'm sure we'll still get a full house with a good chance of progressing.

Pay on the day available for Cheltenham .....

"Ticket prices vary, with adult tickets ranging from £18-£26, students and over-65s between £13-£18, and £7-£10 for under-18s. Tickets are still available online, and are cheaper when purchased in advance, so grab yours today to save money.

If you are buying tickets in person, you can use cash or card from the sales point in the main car park. There will be sales for home & away fans on the day."

Not very clever for this 'high risk' match encouraging fans to travel when there is only home terracing available. Someone must have copied and pasted from their last game v Salford!

Apparently now limited to 4,700 due to safety certificate.  We should get the full allocation.

I remember we took 7.5k in Billy Davies's promotion season (we had half the stand along the side as well as behind the goal). Sunderland took 9k that season.

More than happy to contribute to this cause , on a different topic is it best to taxi to the ground from Cheltenham station,

    Cheers all.

Football Ground Guide gives the following advice.

Cheltenham Railway Station is over two miles from the Whaddon Road ground, so best to jump in a taxi. Phil Truscott advises; ‘I caught Bus Service D from the Station Car park to the Town Centre (Clarence Street). On Saturdays Service D runs every 10 minutes. It costs £3.90 for a ‘day-rider’ ticket with unlimited travel in Cheltenham. From the Town centre it is a short walk to Whaddon Road down Prestbury Road. For the return journey you can catch Bus D (going in the direction of Hatherly/Warden Hill) from Pittville Street in the town centre (at the side entrance of Marks and Spencer). It stops opposite the railway station outside a Tesco Metro’. Bernard McCall a visiting Accrington Stanley fan adds; ‘If you catch Bus D from the train station and do nor get off in the town centre, then it continues to the racecourse where you can get on the free Park & Ride shuttle bus to the ground’.

  9. Sounds like you are doing the right things. The water bath is probably as important as putting feed out, particularly if we get another very frosty spell and there is little water for birds to drink or keep the insulating properties of their feathers in good order.  I always say if you are going to feed birds in the garden, you need to do it consistently and certainly into spring to help them go into the breeding season in good condition.  I like the idea of planting more berry producing shrubs, hawthorn is excellent but cotoneaster although not native, is a good producer of berries for thrushes.  Think about  increasing the flowers in the garden as these will attract insects which birds need during the summer to feed their young. Good luck!
