Just a reminder. Paul Warne also has a 100% record of being relegated from the championship at every attempt

If we end up in the play off final I’ll make sure I buy a seat in the top tier so the ball is at eye level the majority of the time

But his tactics are boring and will ultimately drive people away

But somewhere down the line isn’t going to the football about being entertained.? Someone compared watching us at the moment is like a visit to the dentist 🤔 Someone also asked when was the last time we played well at home. I honestly can’t remember. The fact I haven’t been this season speaks volumes. I travelled to away games under Jewell and Tan Man….just can’t muster up any enthusiasm to watch what is being served up at the moment.

the point is, they will have earned that by moving / being in the right position at the right time. Not just being handed a free shot from the spot.

Surely not? Your having a laugh?
More seriously, what a pointless furrow you and others are ploughing. An absolutely futile! waste of time.
I am confident many fans have had their expectations exceeded as far as Collins is concerned this season. I have no concerns about how he compares to other league one strikers and their stats, what I see are the points his goals have earned , not to mention his work rate and vital role defending set pieces.

Yes, a penalty is worth the same as any other goal, I never said otherwise. Do you not agree the player who is on penalties generally gets more goals as a result? If Hourihane was on pens he would be on more goals this season and Collins on less. That's all I'm saying.

I never said it was easy. I'm confident Nelson would have scored at least one. Therefore his goal tally would be up as a result of being on pens.

Its not about how important penalties are. Of course they're important. The point is - the player who is on penalties gets an advantage over other players in terms of their goal tally for the season. Why is that so hard to understand?

Every clubs penalty taker has their stats inflated - this is just a fact. Obviously they still have to put them away so its wrong to remove them entirely like @Chris_Martin is suggesting. It is true however that they shouldn't be regarded as highly as a goal from open play.

People need to stop blaming finances. However much money we have we have chosen to spend it one way rather than another. The wages spent on some of our ageing signings who have barely contributed could have gone on loans. We are the outlier in not doing that.

Just use your common sense. Obviously the penalty taker gets a bit of an advantage in goal scoring terms than other players, that's all I'm saying.
If Nelson was on penalties for some reason his goal record would be up. Of course he'd probably miss more than Collins but still.

Depends. Players get lucky goals now and then, but what if the tap in was a result of excellent movement?
The thing about a penalty taker is - they might not even be involved in the winning of the penalty at all, but still get the goal at the end.

All these reasons you keep rolling out to remove goals, have you done the research on every player in the division to come up with a new scoring chart?
So the criteria is you don't include pens, so also don't include free kicks.
No rebounds allowed, so no tap ins from someone else's shot also as that's the same.
No goals against kids meaning the trophy games so none against any team that isn't full strength, which realistically is all cup goals, and whilst we are at it, if a goal is scored against an opposition that doesn't have 11 men on the pitch at the time shouldn't count either.
I think goals against the bottom half teams can arguably be discounted for the players in the top 6 as it isnt a fair contest, after all we don't want anyone to be regarded as flat track bullies, these are the teams that should be beaten anyway as they are rubbish, no better than the 'kids' in the pizza cup as you put it.
So once you've done that we can have a reasoned discussion.
Oh, one more thought, the games discounted due to poor opposition mean they shouldn't count in the total number of games played either, so to make it easy, create a chart where only goals against the top 10 (for ease just use today's table) are scored.
It may make loads of difference, it may not, I have no idea, but gut feel is, the order in the chart won't look much different to what's on the BBC website, if it does I suggest you write in and complain.

End of the day hes moved to a club about 15 places above us in the pyramid, we go up and we'll be expecting to beat them at PP next season.

Lampard and Morris - not doing anything these days.
Or, if you prefer, how about McClaren and Simpson - Schteve won't be at United much longer.
Come on, it would be more fun than what we're going through, eh?

Sensationalism doesn't change the facts. I've not seen anyone saying anything daft about Collins, certainly not over-praising to the same extent he was vilified and overly-criticised before.
How many chances did he get against Cheltenham? 1... and he scored it. So from our most recent example, this argument falls flat on its face.
Yes, compared to Messi, he's distinctly mediocre as a footballer. But for the level we're at, and what he's giving to the club, he's been a star this season, and deserves the praise he's getting.
